Too Young to Enjoy

Hi this is my first post - i'm hoping to go to Disneyland Paris in October. Can you answer two questions for me - fistly will it be too cold and secondly I want to bring my daughter who will be 3yr and 3mths then and her cousin who will be nearly 6. Will my daughter be too young to enjoy it and will she be refused many rides that her cousin will be allowed on?

One of my most memorable moments was the first time my DD (then nearly 3) saw main street and the castle. Her face lite up with the most wide smile and she was just overcome with excitement.

Too young - absolutely not

OK there will be height restrictions on some of the bigger rides but the ones your little ones will want to ride will be OK.

Hiya,

I'm going to DLP at the beginning of October, and I don't expect it to be cold. My sister took her children last year at the end of September, and they were in t-shirts and shorts the whole time.

I was there in February this year, and even then, on our last day, it was too warm for coats. There was some rain, but it certainly didn't dampen our spirits .

plus if you are cold it gives you the excuse to stop for yummy hot chocolate and cakes .........

We went on a day trip last year and my youngest who was just under 3 had an absolute ball!! i had taken the pushchair thinking he would be tired and moaning but he was on the go all day, he was so excited ( as was his sister who was then 6) as someone else said there will be height restrictions but there is certainly loads to do even for littlies, we are going back very very soon and we are all excited!

With a 3YO you'll be spending most of your time in Fantasyland - 5 days won't be long enough for them! I absolutely loved taking Jess round the park, even when she was two - the look on her face everytime she saw something new was fantastic.

Even if the kids won't sit in it I would recommend hiring a two seater buggy. When the kids flake out they REALLY flake out and they're also good for keeping your bags and coats in.

My 3.5 year old girl is somewhat tall for her age and just passed the height restriction for Big Thunder Mountain. She insisted on riding it, so I took her and her 5-year-old sister. About 3 seconds into the ride they were really regretting it. For the next three days they kept talking about the big, FAST, train that was really scary.

The little one will be able to ride everything that is appropriate for her, and she will LOVE every minute of it.

Now I do think the trip was lost on my 4-month old. But we really went for the older two.

we took our nephew when he was 22 months at xmas last year, he absolutly loved it and had the most amazing time, he still gets the pictures out and talks about meeting Mickey and Minnie and winnie to pooh. As everybody has said never too young or too old to enjoy the magic

Hi There,

We got back last Friday after spending 5 days there with dd aged 2.5yrs and ds 5 months old. They both had a ball and were made a right fuss of. We took both of them on loads of rides incl small world, peter pan, pirates of the caribbean, buzz lightyear to name but a few. Got some hilarious piccies of ds on the buzz ride! They were both in awe of the parades aswell.

We stayed at the HNY which was fab as close enough to the park to get back to quickly. dd loved the pool and there were loads of character meet and greets each day. Would take your own buggy as the hire ones were like trolleys! Also book for the Blue Lagoon Restaurant, the ride goes past you while your eating, dd thought it was fab. The food was good too.

As all the others said before: you're never too young - or too old . We went there with our 3,5 years young daughter in May and she loved it! Especially Fantasyland of course! It's a small world, Dumbo, the Teacups, the Winnie the Pooh show, etc... The only thing she liked more was looking for Disney Characters and getting autographs. She was really good at it - so we have a lot of them now ! As she enjoyed it so much we went there in June and our next time will be in 2 weeks.

What we did was spending the morning and lunch in the park, then went back to the hotel for a little sleep and then returned to the park. I think otherwise it would have been too much impressions for the little one.

Ok I'm really getting excited now. I have booked to go from 1st to 3rd October. Have twins aged 71/2 months so dont want to be away any longer. No bringing them as this trip is for their big sis who's been so good since they've been born and hasn't been a bit put out by their arrival. Well at least that's my excuse - I actaully went to Florida on my honeymoon 4yrs ago and we plan to take all of them back there when the littliest are 4. Thanks so much again for all the tips, I'm addicted to this site already. I have only to book transport now from Beauvais airport to the Sante Fe Hotel.

No age is too young unless there is a medical condition (IMHO). We took ours at 3 months old, our 4 year old (turned 4 in May) has been 8 times and to WDW once, our 2 year old has been to DLP 4 times and WDW once. Will they remember their 1st trip when they are older? No, but we will.

Sadly though, my kids are nearly as obsessed as I am!

I'm at the Santa Fe on the 3rd of October too Andreag! Thats our date of arrival this time round. We should get there about 11am - we're using the VEA shuttle from CDG airport.

I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time! We went in March 2007 when DD was 3 years 2mths and DS was nearly 6. We didn't do big rides like Thunder Mountain but we did Buzz,PeterPan, Casey Jnr,Orbitron,Dumbo,Snow white,Pinoccio etc and had a great time. We hired a buggy and used the buggy board thing on the back - we were travelling by Eurostar and couldn't manage 2 kids, 4 rucksacks, 2 suitcases AND a buggy so just hired one. The kids still talk about the characters. I've booked again for next March 08 but it's still a secret!!!!
