too scary for a 5 and 2 yr old?

We also thought alot about this before we went with our 2 year old! We steered clear of Snow White, but she liked Peter Pan. She liked Pooh, but was a bit scared of Philharmagic (too loud)...
She liked the Tiki birds and the Country Bear jubilee... our rule of thumb was this... if we at all thought it could be scary to a child, we steered clear.
In MGM we did to the Little Mermaid show... and she enjoyed it. Also the Lion King and Tarzan shows in AK...

my ds (3 at the time) totally freaked out at the Pooh ride...
I don't know why something as sweet as Pooh and friends had to have something scary in it :confused3 , but with the thunderstorm, the heffalumps kinda jumping out at you, and the dark, it was awful for him. He talked about it the rest of the trip (and this was on our first day).

Why, why, why do most of the rides have scary elements to them? :confused3
I understand that there needs to be some kind of thrill factor, but geez, this is Disney World...The Happiest Place on Earth. Do the Imaigneers just not care that kids will be scared to death on the majority of the rides? Snow White shouldn't terrify a 6 year old!
Ok, off my soapbox. We love WDW; I would live on Main Street if I could.
Buzz Lightyear passes the test with my little guy. I'm sure we will ride it dozens of time on our next trip!

We just got back on Friday from a trip with DD7 and DD4. DD7 loved almost everything, but did not like Honey I Shrunk The Audience that well. DD4 did not like ANY of the 3-D shows. She loved the Dumbo ride (or Dimbo as she calls it), the teacups, Small World, the Magic Carpet, and even though she was hesitant at first, she loved Goofy's Barnstormer roller coaster, and wanted to ride again and again! The Tiki Bird show, and Country Bear Jamboree are also good choices, but those can be a bit dull for the adults. DD4 tolerated the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Test Track, and we decided to not take her on Splash Mountain, because of the big drop.

All-in-all, she thoroughly enjoyed most things, and we would just explain if she seems afraid that it was pretend (like in Pirates).
