I have really been looking forward to the opening of The Mummy, but after reading some of the links listed on the Mummy threads I am wondering if it will be too scarey for me. I think I can handle the thrill of the ride, it is the chill part of it that has me worried. Anyone else?

It does look kind of scary, but just think, it will add to the excitement. Try it once!!!! Then decide if you like it or not.;)

Grin & bear it, eh? That's part of the fun of riding a ride for the first time. Look at it this way: you'll get off alive, so what do you have to lose except missing out on what everyone's talking about?

It looks too scary for me too, but I will have to try it anyway. I can conquer my fears (most of the time). The ride looks to be right up DH's alley and he can't wait to ride it in May.

This is the problem the industry is trying to overcome.
In the past, they we're called "thrill rides" and people we're too scared to go on them.
Now the term is "fun rides."

They're fun. You'll live.

I'm worried about this too....not for me, but for my 10 y.o. DS. I've never seen a bigger scaredy cat!! (he wouldn't even watch the spooky trees on Lara Croft Tomb Raider II) It's gonna be a drag if I can't get him on it, because I want to ride with my 13 yo too.

I think it's going to be a scarier than everything around at the moment. Personally, would not advise coaxing any child, especially 10 year old's in to doing the ride unless they are completely comfortable with it. Some 7, 8 or 9 year olds can easily cope with dark and spooky, and love things like Jurassic Park, Alien etc while other's much older can't and are truly frightened - even some adults!!! Of course, it could be funny scary - in which they aren't scary at all in mannerisms, but look it in pictures......guess we'll all just have to wait an see!!:D

I can understand how some children are scared since they don't realize that harm will not come to it, but it should be easier for adults to know that they will be safe in the end. My one exception to this is certain roller coasters. The ones without shoulder restaints with BIG hills and drops scare the bejeebers of of me, but it's the kind of scared when I really think that I'm going to die. I don't like that feeling. :hyper: Spooky scary has never bothered me, unless it's a suspensful movie and that is another story.

Thanks everybody. I am sure I will be going on, but I would like to come off laughing and not terrified. I'm sure the second ride will be much easier! DS 11 says he is not going on, I'll not be trying to coax him (thanks for that, Selina). If he decides by the end of the trip that he would like to give it a try, fine. If not, there's always the next trip!

I will definately be waiting for reviews from parents before taking the kids if the height is 42 or 44 inches. I still can't wait though.

I will just bring Jennifer Garner with me. That way if I am scared, I can have her hold me!!!!:D :p ;)

Silly me. I thought you would have your wife by your side! :scared1: :scared1: ;)

If you are scared, I will hold your hand. Just make sure you wash it beforehand. :)

Thanks, Webmaster. We'll be there first part of July. Warning--I have a pretty tight grip!

His wife will be on one side, and Jennifer Garner on the other. :jester:

And I will be on the other side next to Jennifer as, of course, she will be with me. We just hang with Spidey sometimes to make him feel important, hanging out with a starlet and prince. Spidey, how many times have I told you to stop thinking about my Jennifer like that.

LOL!!!! Thanks DM!

Prince- Ariel will be next to you, as Jennifer will be with me....:p ;)

And I'll be making sure that the lot of you aren't acting up too much. :jester:
