I know it's probably a little late to be asking this, but O'm going to Disney in a few days (and it's been a while since the last time that I went and we're doing the Deluxe Dining Plan. I fought hard to keep all the lunches before noon and all the dinners after seven.

We plan on having a relatively small breakfast (using our snack credits) in the room. We're staying at the Grand Floridian and we're going with my 82 year old grandma, so we wanted to have most of our dinners near the hotel so we're not all the way across the world.

So here's the schedule:

Friday
Lunch: Liberty Tree Tavern
Dinner: Citricos

Saturday
Lunch: 50's Primetime Diner
Dinner: Yachtsman's Steak House

Sunday (aka the day we go off the DxDP)
Brunch: Room Service
Afternoon Tea
Dinner: Victoria & Alberts (know it's not included in the DxDP)

Monday
Lunch: Living Seas
Dinner: Narcossees

Tuesday
Lunch: Yak & Yeti
Dinner: Brown Derby

Wednesday
Breakfast: 1900 Park Fare

This might be a stupid question, but exactly how much food is that?

Thanks.

It can be a lot of food, but nobody will force you to finish your plate if you don't want to eat it all. :goodvibes

If you're doing breakfasts in the room, consider bringing desserts back to the room to round out breakfasts, or have on hand when you get the munchies.

Your lunches are before noon and dinners are after 7. That means you are going over 7 hours with no food. You will most likely want some snacks between meals. That is a long time to go without food. I know everyone says that the dining plans are a lot of food but really it is just very large portions. You don't have to eat the whole thing and you don't have to order dessert if you don't want it.

I don't think you'd find it that much more food than the Quick service or regular. You're simply swapping quick service (normally really bad for you stuff. :lmao:) for a slower meal (with potentially better quality food).

I'm not sure when they dropped it, but the DDP used to include appetizer, main course, and dessert. That was a LOT of food. We always had to take home the desserts.

But, to a previous poster's comment. They'll guilt you into finishing your plate at the 50's prime time cafe. Or at least eat your veggies. :lmao:

Have a great time!

We always eat 2 table service meals a day. We usually have breakfast, but occasionally have early lunches. Our dinner is usually 7:30 to 8:30. It's not too much food. However, only my DH & his GF eat snacks or meals in between. My DH & I rarely eat anything other than the 2 meals. I may think it's too much, if we did a lot of snacking or counter service lunches between our TS meal. It looks like you have some great meals planned. Enjoy your trip!

I know it's done in good humor, but this is one reason we'll probably never eat at 50's.

:lmao:Great minds .... I thought the same when I read Tricia's comment.

You get 2 snacks a day with the Deluxe so even using snack credits for breakfast, you will still have another one each for during the day. The snacks are substantial and you may even find sharing a few between you is more practical. There is another up-side to spacing your meals out: you don't have to interrupt your schedule too soon to get to the next ADR. While the meals might be 7 hours apart in theory, you will spend the best part of an hour or longer at your first TS meal, then you need to check in again 20 minutes or so before the next one so it is really not as bad as it sounds. If you normally eat lunch at 1 pm and dinner around 7 pm, give or take, this would be quite a reasonable interval between the meals.

Thank you for all the tips, I never would have thought of taking home the desserts for breakfast the next morning.

We did plan on having snacks in between the two meals, I just don't like leaving food on my plate, I see it as being a bit wasteful. I think that if we just take our time and don't rush we should be fine. Right?

I think you will be fine. We did the DxDP in February, did 3 TS meals a day, had snacks most days and loved it. We never felt stuffed but at the same time, we never felt hungry. We didn't eat everything on our plates and we took many of our desserts back to the room or shared them with our kids (they got tired of sundaes).

I think you have a nice schedule planned and with snacks in between meals, I think you'll do just fine.
