Too much food for these Newlyweds Sep. DxDP 11/08

I have really enjoyed reading about your disneymoon. We are leaving for ours on Dec. 27th and have several of the same ADR's you did. Thanks so much for such a great thread to get me excited about going even more. :cool1:

I'm glad I could get you excited! You will have a great time and congrats on getting married :)

So this is our last full day at the parks. We just had WCC for breakfast and knew we had Lecellier as an early dinner because we had MNSSHP tickets later on the in the day. BUT because of a flight change we we would not be able to use 2 credits for lunch the next day like we had planned. We were slightly hungry after Soarin so we thought we would stop by Sunshine Seasons and share a CS credit lunch..In the end that way we were only left with one unused credit.

We had-Turkey and Monterey Jack Cheese on Foccacia - with Chipotle Mayonnaise and with a side

For some reason I was thinking this was ham, but couldnt tell in the picture. Our side was some kind of potato salad. This meal was okay, I wasnt fond of the foccacia bread. The quality of the food was good, just wasn't my thing. I was content to eat the blondie brownie and just pick at the rest while DH ate the rest :)

Thanks for keeping me entertained while I wait for trick-or-treaters! :goodvibes We're staying AKV Concierge next Sept and I'm thinking of doing DDxP for the first time- but it looks like a TON of food! But SOOOOO fun!!:goodvibes

Congratulations!!!

I hope you have a great time. Overall I am glad I did concierge dining because it was our honeymoon and I'm glad we could splurge and not worry about the cost of everything. BUT it was way too much food, which I am a big eater and I didn't like the idea that I had to eat out of fear of losing my credits. I would do it again for a celebration, but thats it. We are currently planning our trip for next year and unless it is offered for free we won't be doing the dining plan. While this trip was great with all the signatures, I had quite a few cool snacks I wanted to do and couldnt even think about them bc I was soo full!!

I just caught up and really enjoyed all your reviews! :goodvibes It was very informative. We are going on our honeymoon next month and will also be staying at the AKL and doing the DxDP. I can't wait to try Cali Grill! We are also doing Jiko and I am kind of scared about the "exotic" tastes too. We are not fancy eaters at all, but want to go all out on our honeymoon. I plan to try the steak and macaroni too. That's a good idea to ask for the sauce on the side! :thumbsup2

I really enjoyed your reviews. Great pictures. Thanks for taking the time to post and including your wedding photo.

Lecellier

For our starters, I guess I never got a picture?? We both got the cheese soup. For our entrees we both got: Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon - with wild mushroom risotto, white truffle and herb butter sauce. I unfortunately made the mistake of getting the mashed potatoes instead of the risotto.

His dessert was the maple creme brulee

My dessert was the Smore's

Review- We got started with the usual breads which IMO were okay. I'm a carb aholic so of course I eat them all, but I would have rather had dinner rolls! Maybe they have more starch, who knows :confused3 As for the cheese soup, I do not think I would order it again. This was another I was realy looking forward to, but tasted completely different than I thought it would. Now in the Midwest *maybe elsewhere too, I'm not sure* we have a restaurant called Cheddar's and they have an amazng cheese soup. Very cheesey, slight ham/bacon taste. I can't go there without eating it. In my head that is what Lecellieres would taste like, but it almsot seemed more like a mix between cheddar/potato soup without the potato chunks. I ended up dipping my bread in it and that wasn't bad. As for the filets- Mine was good....Dh's was GREAT!! I stupidly made the mistake of being a chicken, not wanting to go out of the box and subbed for the mashed potatoes. Don't get me wrong, the mashed was good, but when I tried his risotto with the filet it just went together perfectly. P.S.- I also do not like mushrooms, but you really don't notice them, so don't let that scare you away from this dish. DH was very kind and let me have some of his risotto. DH loved his creme brulee, which was also a first for him. My smores wasn't that great, really wished I had gone with the chocolate cake, but the whiskey in the name scared me :) So after 3 rouns of Smore's desserts, 50's Primetime definitely won in that category!!

For those of you honeymooners that have posted on my review I thought I would tell you about these shirts I bought for our honeymoon. I learned about them from another Disneymooner. I got them on ebay and if you want the sellers info just pm me and I will send it to ya!

At the end I'd have to say we had an amazing time and even though I didn't like everything I ate, I still look back at it and don't even remember the bad, I just remember the great!! Going Deluxe was great and very freeing and not for the faint of heart. DH who works out at least 5 times a week and is in very good shape, gained 10 lbs during our stay  I only gained 2, but I was doing alot more excercise than I normally do at my desk job. I am currently planning a trip for us for end of nov- early december, provided things work out. Am I planning on doing the dining plan? Only if its free. I don't have anything against it, I just think I am currently remembering how full I was and am shell shocked and need a break. Even at breakfast on our last day at Boma, we hadn't ate anything that day and barely ate one plate bc the thought of more food just turned our stomachs. The waitress even couldn't believe we were finished already and I actually said "Well, this is our last day of deluxe dining and can't take anymore of it." Being CL didn't help either, if we hadn't been CL, we could have spread it more out and did more breakfasts and did snacks for lunch. I hope you all find me on my next report. Currently the ideas that I am running for next time are *subject to change* -Ohana, T-Rex, Cape May, Kona, California Grill....but I keep changing my mind so who knows :) We are wanting to stay at Port Orleans Riverside. I am so glad you all tuned in and hope you all have a great time on your next trips!! I am leaving you with our Top Picks of our trip!

DH-

I am definitely signing on way too late but I love your review! :-) I also love that you are a newlywed (I got married in May), a scrapbooker, and from IL. :-) We also spent half of our honeymoon in the World. :-) I have no review though, b/c I didn't find out about DIS until last week. :-O I know!
