Too much complaining

I think what complaints annoy me the most is the ones where someone wants disney to bring back an attraction. Does anyone realize how much money they would lose if they brought back an attraction? Imagine if they tore out Pooh and put back in Toad. That would mean that all the money it took to tear out Toad the first time, and build Pooh was all a waste. I miss Toad, I miss 20000 Leagues, but I understand why they did what they did. I just hope that the next attraction holds up to the higher standard that Disney has.

Without the complaint posts, nobody would understand the pitfalls and ways to avoid the problems others have found, and DEAL WITH the complex situations at WDW.

It's not just Disney. We are a nation of complainers and whiners. We seek things out to complain about or be offended about and take perverse pleasure in it. We enjoy close to the most freedoms and are among the most wealthy nations in the world, but gosh darn it we will STILL find lots to complain about because we are determined to do so. ;)

wow...this has taken a turn for the worst. Nothing like faith in your fellow man.

I think as a nation we are the greatest in the history of the planet. However, the media chooses to focus in general on the negative so it seems like thats all thats out there. In everyday life I find the complete opposite to be true. People are nice, friendly and positive. Maybe its just preception?

I absolutely agree with you about the media...they focus on the bad because that is what sells and gets ratings.

Maybe I was being a little harsh saying we are all whiners and complainers but it does seem very petty to complain about not being granted dreams or not getting towel animals when many people in the world don't have running water or even food to feed their families. I am thankful every morning when I wake up in a comfortable bed with a roof over my head and know that when I get up there will be food for me to eat and feed my little one, KWIM?

I agree with that! I think we can be thankful and complain a little too...its human nature. Complaining on message boards is so easy that we get carried away. Not to mention the trolls that do it just to get a rise out of people. All in good fun for the most part...the others that just like to complain, hopefully they are the minority.

One good thing about the complaint threads: my expectations were so low about my upcoming trip. I was even getting a bit depressed by reading that Disney was losing it's magic. So, I was pleasantly surprised that I was not hit by a stroller, that it or it's contents were not stolen, that everybody was curteous and polite. I didn't see anybody cut in line, the kid's menu was surprisingly good, the Christmas decorations were really nice and that my favourite restaurants are still my favourites.

I had a great trip!

I agree with the OP and a few other posters here. There have always been complaints on this board but since I started planning this last trip about three months ago, it seems the negative is outweighing the positive. It's just a lot more fun for me to read about the positive rather than the negative.

I know there is negative things related to trips to Disney but I will always say that the positive totally blows them away. :Pinkbounc

Happy Holidays and Happy Planning.

My opinion is, some are just complaining for the sake of complaining. :teeth:

I can agree with that!! :cool1: Complaining about the crowds at the airport, crowds in the park, weather (which Disney cannot do a thing about), chips in the concrete, walls needing to be painted and such are quite petty.

On the other hand, I think the Pop Warner, bad service/bad food, AC broken in the room and mgmt never called back complaints are very fair. It helps others with planning.

I am new to these boards and I have read a lot of information that was helpful and some that was just plain mean.
It amazes me that some people just get so worked up that they start name calling and being hurtful.
I am not down on people who want to share a bad experience, it could really help others- just as sharing a positive experience does, but there is no need for some of the comments I have read.
I guess this is cheaper than therapy, but c'mon, life's too short!!
Let's keep it civil.
