Too much complaining

From crowd complaints to not enough decorations. The complaints seem endless. I love Disney but also know they are a money making business. I spend money at local water parks. I spend money at theaters, concerts and new york vacations, Six Flags, ect. The place that comes closes to get more then my money's worth is always Disney. The shows, the polite CMs, the view, the extreme work they put in the rides. There will always be flaws. With the price of everything going up they will cut back but they also improve. More rides and something different to see most times we go which is about 2 to 3 times a year. I hope everyone has a great vacation where ever you choose to go. Remember look for the best things in life.

I'd like to submit a complaint about the thread title. It should be "too" not "to"
Sorry, couldn't resist! :rotfl2:

I think its entirely possible to complain about a few small issues and still have a great time. I may think the parade is lame and still have a great vacation. There's an old saying about complaints...they are like something else and everyone has one!!

Without complaining on the internet how would I get through my work days????? :rotfl2:

I swear there are times when I think people really DO feel that way!

It's astonishing some of the complaint threads we see here (I'm sure every internet board has them). I think it's important for people to share both good and bad experiences but I do wonder about some of the repetitive complaints ('some horrible so-and-so a) ran their stroller up my ankle, b) wore a birthday badge and it wasn't their REAL birthday, c) fill in your own pet peeve complaint here.....and I think Disney should take them out of the park and have them SHOT!'). The ultra-hyper picky stuff makes me shake my head in amazement, too.

Some complaints are really useful and lead to good changes. Some are just jaw-droppingly ridiculous. I guess we each get to decide which one our personal complaint might be.

I agree (although I like the parades ;) )

Disney costs a lot and delivers a lot but expectations are always really high so the chance of disappointment is always there. I'd rate our trip a 9 out of 10 but if I think the few things that weren't perfect (e.g. unexpectedly large crowds, long waits at Trail's End) are important for people to know about, I'll share them. I share my raves and faves too so I figure it mostly works out.

It's called Freedom of Speech. Everybody is entitled to share their opinions, regardless of who agrees or disagrees. If nobody shared their disappointments on this board, there would be a lot less posts. :rotfl:

However, on the flipside, I like hearing about the good experiences - the ones that make me teary-eyed and make me look forward to my next trip even more.

The complaints will continue to roll in no matter what Disney does. Some folks just like to post and can't come up with anything else to talk about.

Very Well Said.. :thumbsup2 Amen!

Now.. enjoy the Christmas holidays and spend time with your families.. time is so precious!

I agree everyone has the right to state their opinion even if it's a complaint.

My opinion is, some are just complaining for the sake of complaining. :teeth:

OP...thank you for this post!! I have been thinking the same thing. I started going on these boards 2 years ago and I have gained a wealth of information from them. I seriously see much more negative things lately. But what this has done for me is fine-tuned my filtering system, which has actually saved me lots of time. I now only read posts that have titles that directly affect my up-coming trip, or as soon as I read one thing that seems to not really pertain to info I want, I leave that discussion. Two years ago, I seriously spent way too much time here. :surfweb: So like everything in life, I have learned to pick my battles. So thank you OP for this positive post!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

So true OP, Freedom of speech is why we all come here and read and post our thoughts. In today's world there is so much negativitiy you hope that when we all go to Disney for that precious time we are there we think postive thoughts and feel good and are happy when we are there.

I know the lines are longer and some people are ruder then you would want, but you are on vacation and in your favorite place.

But I do love these boards and always love a good discussion.

Merry Christmas to all!! :santa:

I'm leaving for Disney World in a few days, and everytime I come to this board, there seems to be a new post about something "wrong" at Disney World. It's a real downer! I have to keep reminding myself that I have been been to Disney World at least a dozen times and have never had a bad trip there. (Except maybe the one time when my husband became ill and had to be hospitalized and then later got hit by the mirror of a car driving too fast through the Typhoon Lagoon parking lot. Fortunately, he wasn't badly hurt, although I do think the parking lot needs a sidewalk and speedbumps.)

I think a big part of the problem is that people often go for super-duper luxury trips that are very expensive, can only afford to go once in a long while, and then have very, very high expectations. My approach is to go on a more modest trip (no concierge, rarely eat sit-down meals, stay offsite in a nice timeshare if I can't get a good deal onsite) but go more frequently. That way, if something isn't perfect, there's always next time.

I learn alot from the complaints. It's like a bad life experience-sometimes you learn more from the bad than the good.

If I hadn't heard about the big crowds ,I never would have subscribed to TGM and RideMax and learned how to avoid them.

I've learned from complaints to look at the calendar and avoid Pop Warner.

I've learned from people complaining about the ticket costs to consider an AP if I go more often than 1x a year or for more than 10 days.

I've learned from people complaining about the hotel costs to consider and then to become DVC members.

Of course,I learn from the good posts too but that's not the subject of this thread.
