Who'da thunk it??? I picked well over 20#s this morning and never made a dent in the total. I'm sure I'll be freezing then, drying them, making spaghetti sauce, making salsa... and I'll probably still be reduced to surreptitiously leaving bags of them in strangers' unlocked cars... Terrible year for squash, so-so year for corn and peppers but the tomatoes...OMG! :scared1:

I don't suppose you want to take a nice long drive to Portland do ya?
I adore the smell of fresh tomatoes. Shame of it is I'm a terrible gardener. For some reason :confused3 I never remember to water things. Good thing babies cry when their hungry...I shutter to think what could have happened...:rotfl: :rotfl:

Wow, me too!! I just came in from doing all my yard work and I picked enough tomatoes to fill up one side of the sink - beefsteak, cherry and plum types. I've been giving them away and eating them like crazy. My peppers have done great and my basil ... well, it would be great if the darn japanese beatles would leave it alone! I think I'm gonna be freezing lots of salsa (not that I'm complaining - it's kind of nice to have it in the middle of December during a blizzard).

Orlando please!

Love the taste of a home grown tomato!

Pass the salt shaker, sit me down in the back yard, and watch a happy camper!

Congrats on a successful growing season!

Pick 'em green!!! Pickled, fried, baked...green tomatoes are my favorite!!!!

Been having a bumper crop here too, peppers haven't done bad either; already frozen a couple of gallons of spaghetti sauce and making more today!

You know that saying:
"When life gives you tomatoes, make tomato..." Wait, maybe that wasn't the saying.... :rolleyes1

For those who suck at growing things (me included), have you ever tried growing Hydroponics? We bought this indoor garden last year called Aerogrow and it's basically the easiest thing in the world to use. It tells you when you need to add water, nutrients, etc.

Right now we are growing hot peppers and tomatoes. Highly recommend checking it out if your interested... www.aerogrow.com
