I need help from all of you who have used the Orlando timeshares before. Some friends have offered to let us use their timeshare this year since they have an extra week and won't be using it. Their timeshare is tradable through Interval.

We are searching for December 3 -10th and I know NOTHING about the timeshares. I am OVERWHELMED by all the choices !! :confused3

These are the ones that are popping up. Could anyone give me any reviews on these places or where you prefer to stay

Lago Vista At Buenaventura Lakes
The Wyndham Palms Resort & Country Club
Parkway International Resort
Westgate Lakes Resort
Westgate Vacation Villas
Westgate Towers
Celebrity Resorts Orlando - Spas
Star Island Resort and Club
Liki Tiki Village
Sheraton Vistana Resort
Vacation Villas at FantasyWorld

Thanks for all of your help !!

Here are my opinions as far as yes or no on the ones listed..that goes by what I have heard, seen or stayed at. Alot depends on what you are looking for really... (I posted yes or no after each resort)

you aren't getting any Marriotts???

then I would go with Sheraton Vistana or Wyndham Palms.

I agree with spiceycat. I own at both of these resorts and would recommend either of them. If you have kids, Vistana would win out (though the mini-golf is free at Wyndham Palms while there's a charge at Vistana). If you are just adults or golfers, I'd go with Wyndham Palms.

I've stayed at both Vistana Resort and Wyndham Palms.
At Vistana, there are about 6 or 7 phases all built at different times. Some 20+ years old, 1 just a couple of years old. It's a nice resort, but try to get one of the newer sections if you stay here.
Wyndham Palms was great, but only if you get a 2br or 3br. The 1br's are sort of a hybrid between a studio and a 1br. I think you'd be disappointed in the 1br's here. Unfortunately, a lot of timeshares are making their studio lockoffs a little bigger, separating the bedroom, and calling it a 1br.

Did you like Like Tiki? Can you tell me about it as this is one I am looking at for my upcoming trip. :teacher: Educate me if you would be so kind.

We stayed at Liki Tiki once. The pool area is nice, and the rest of the resort is OK. Didn't care much for the room. We had a 1-B/R, and it seemed pretty low quality to us. The room was also laid out pretty funny. For example, you had a living area with couch/coffee table, which faced toward the dining area with a dining table. The TV was on the other side of the dining table, so you had to look over that table to see TV.

Personally, we scratched it off of our lists for any future visits. We've also stayed at Vistana and got one of the newest buildings. That was a very nice room and I would recommend that. Don't know about the older rooms (some of the resort is pretty old).

I appreicate the candid advice. Thank you for the reponse and have a wonderfull weekend!! :wave2:
