I am so pumped for our upcoming trip!
First, we planned this trip spontaneously when FD came out, even though we were just there in January.
On that trip, we sprang it on the kids on Christmas morning, so they had about a month to anticipate and plan. After the trip they said they would rather be surprised about any future trips to WDW, since we had done that on our other trips.
So surprise trip it is.
We plan on telling them they have to leave school an hour early for a doctor's appointment, have to stop at our house for the insurance card, and have the suitcases with their Mickey ears sitting on top of them in the foyer when they walk in. Then we'll head straight to the airport.
When I told my good friend about our trip, and asked them if they wanted to come along, she surprised me a few weeks later and said that they were!
Our kids all get along great, especially the older ones. They look forward to whenever we can get together with them.
She's keeping the trip a secret from her kids too.
Weirdly enough, one day we were talking about WDW with the kids and what we want to do on our next trip, and my DS says "wouldn't it be great if the xxxxxxx's could come with us on our next trip?"
I swear he's psychic sometimes.
So not only is the entire trip a surprise, but I can't even imagine the looks on my kids faces when they see our friends at the hotel (they're even staying at POR like us)!
Since both of our trips are official, we have had several phone planning sessions while the kids are in school, and have at least 5 meals together.
I think this is going to be our best trip yet.
