We have an upcoming trip in September; it will be to celebrate my youngest daughter's 5th birthday so I wanted to plan some special meals for her. On her actual birthday, we'll be having dinner at CRT, and when we are at Epcot, we'll be having lunch at Akershaus. Too many princesses? She's not into Cinderella and the traditional Disney princesses so much; she is all about Elsa, Elsa, Elsa ... friggin' Elsa is getting on my nerves. Anyway, do you think one princess meal will be enough, as we'll also do meet-and-greets? If choosing just one, which would you select? I've done Akershaus before with my two older daughters when they were much younger and it was really lovely; we met @ 5-6 princesses and they spent quite a bit of time at each table. I've heard mixed reviews re: the character interaction at CRT, but it would be really interesting to see the inside of the castle; however, it's not something that is on our bucket list or we've been dreaming about. Plus, it takes up TWO dining credits!

Thanks for your thoughts!

We are planning on doing CRT and Arkershus on our next trip. We will probably also do a ton of princess meet and greets. It never occurred to me to think that would be too many princesses, and I know my DD would never think any amount was too many.

Your DD will love both! CRT is really special and Akershus is fun too! You're at Disney so there's no such thing as too much princesses!! Enjoy!

having once done 18 character meals in a trip I am a firm believer in no little Princess can EVER have too many Princesses and you will soon miss those days :goodvibes:

I thought you were doing both on the same day, which would definitely have been too much, but otherwise, why not! I personally would not do both for a couple of reasons. I feel like CRT is overpriced with verrrrry hit-or-miss food, so if you decide to pick just one, I'd go with Akershus, which has great character interaction and fantastic food (I love the combo of appetizer buffet + entree + family-style dessert). It's cheaper, too. When we did both meals in one trip, the adults did feel it was a little bit of a princess overload by the second meal, especially since they're almost the same (Snow White, Aurora and Ariel are at both places, as is Cinderella, though the interaction at CRT is different). But the kid loved it! And the thing about CRT, obviously, is that it's inside the castle! Which is definitely exciting enough to warrant at least one visit in a lifetime, and what better occasion than on a birthday?

So basically... listen to your heart ;) Just make sure you do go to Akershus!

On the other side of the coin, we don't care for the food at the princess meals and my daughter gets plenty of princesses during traditional meet and greets. For me I'd skip the high price and focus on the "free" interactions. I think crt will be a special meal but if she really isn't into them then call it a day.

And by the way I'm totally with ya on Elsa. So over the whole adrendale crew

I don't think both in the same trip is too much! We did CRT on our last trip and it was a wonderful experience! We had an awesome experience...food was great and character interactions with my girls was fabulous!

We did both the same trip when DD was younger and it wasn't too many princesses. Although I will say I prefer Akershaus for breakfast. DD didn't like CRT, food or experience  I thought it would be the end all be all for her? Enjoy it while she is young.

CRT is great and something everyone should do once. We did it on our first trip to celebrate our DD's birthday as well. We also tried Akershus that trip.

Every trip going forward we have done Akershus and skipped CRT. While a great experience it wasn't worth the 2 dining credits as mentioned, and we honestly preferred the food at Akershus better (thought not by much). Do it at one point, the first time experience is worth 2 dining credits. Subsequent ones aren't IMO.

If you want to see the inside of the castle, do CRT. Otherwise, do Akershus. We actually prefer the food and the service at Akershus and have had great character interactions there. Our service at CRT was actually pretty bad. Perhaps because gratuity is included, our server simply took our order and never checked on us. It wasn't a very magical experience.
