Too many Disney Channels

We are staying offsite for the first time this June. One of the reasons is the lack of tv variety. After spending the day in the parks, we like to order room service,kick back, and watch some tv. Yea,I know Disney is a business and they want you out of the room spending money yadayada. Well, we are out of the room and off the property. DH and I travel ALOT and whenever we spend comparable dollars on a hotel room we expect the best.Most other hotels offer decent programming and pay-per-view(not the dirty channels). Disney has nice themeing and all that but so do most other hotels at that price point. The staff @ the WDW hotels are great but is it too much to ask to have decent tv to watch at the end of a long day? Julie

What is to your trying to watch? I know they really don't have movie channels but they do have most the other channels. I can not sleep w/out watching TV in bed and I can always find a show to watch. I also can't start my day until I watch the park info channel. But hey that's me and my family were a little sick in the head that way. I hope you have a wonderful trip otherwise!

That's why my husband brings our portable DVD player into the room (which we bring along in the car for our son to watch movies). I could care less about TV when I'm at Disney World (other than the Disney park channels) but hey, I'm a freak that way.

I've come across very few hotels that have a truly broad range of TV channels, given what's available via cable or satellite these days. However, what Disney offers is fairly comparable with most hotels I've stayed at. And our 2 DDs love the read-along stories in the evening. So far that always puts them to sleep without any fuss.
