Too Many Character Meals???

I don't have kids so I can't really say what I would do in your situation. I can tell you though that it's just me and DH and we do several character meals a trip. We just happen to like the food at places that happen to have characters, all the better if you ask me ;) We mix them up with other table services and counter services though so not to suffer from character overload. I say go for it and I hope you have a great time :goodvibes

If it is your first trip (or your first in a long time), I don't think you can have too many character meals.

Kids love them.

The best thing abour character meals is that fact you don't have to stand in line to see the characters, they come to you! It makes it easier to get good pictures and spend a little time with each character.

I do not think you can have to many character meals that is one of the magical things about disney. We get the dining plan to avail of these. It costs us so much just to get there that we want to savour every moment. Just to see the look on the kids faces are the highlights for us.

I think you can never have too many character meals!

I agree. We did 5 on our last trip. Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace, Hollywood & Vine Playhouse Disney Lunch, Akershus Princess Storybook breakfast, CRT lunch.

I wish we had added LTT. The kids couldn't get enough of them. I figured, I can go to a 'so-called' normal restaurant anywhere. When at WDW I wanted a Disney experience when dining.

Our first 2 trips that's all we did were character meals. I wouldn't have planned it any other way. Our kids were little so it worked for us. As they are growing up I still do characer meals, but now I get to throw in a Kona or Coral Reef (which DH loves) :rotfl:

I don't think it's too many with kids. Besides, how often to they get to dine with these characters??

Have fun!!!!

You are not doing to many character meals!!

My ds5 enjoys both character & reg. ts meals so whatever we choose is not a big deal to him. We always do a lot of character meals. This yr. we are doing 5 character meals in 10days. :cool1:

Have Fun!!

We are doing 6 Character meals in 15 days, but they are condensed into the beginiing and end of the trip since our other famailies didn't want to do them

1900 Park fare, O'Hana's, Donald's Safari, LTT (dd's bday), CM and the girls are doing CRT (dd' bday bkfst)

:scared: You think that's too much character dining? We paid for deluxe dining and just about every meal we booked is a character dining. DD loved character dining last time so I went ahead and booked everything I possibly could. I got some other "good" places like Boma and Narcoossee's, but most of the dining is for her entertainment and enjoyment.

We've got...

Cinderellas Royal Table
Ohana
Cape May
Chef Mickey's
Tusker House
Akerusblahblah (how DO you say that name? I tried pronouncing it when I made my reservations and sounded really stupid!)
Crystal Palace
Spirit of Aloha
1900 Park Fare

I am all for character meals... DH and I enjoy them along with the kids.... I love that we don't have to wait on lines to see our favorite characters and you can't beat the large amounts of food you get for the price... And each character meal is very different... So you are mixing it up without really knowing it.... I will say that I don't like ending up with a ton a buffets... It is nice to be waited on now and again... Therefore, LTT and Garden Grill are on my list!

The kids will love it, we are doing mostly buffets with some characters.

Ohana
Liberty Tree-Characters
Biergarten
Boma
Tusker House Breakfast-Characters
Sci-Fi- The only non buffet

LTT is not a buffet either... It is a family-style sit-down :upsidedow

We also love Sci-Fi for the kids... They were the best behaved there because they were amazed by the atmosphere and the movies... They also ate very well there!!! We liked the food also... It is simple but good!

Your right:rotfl: I just always feel they are buffet cause they are all you can eat..:thumbsup2

:confused3
Okay, so I am trying to figure out our ADR's for November and I wanted to ask if there can be too many character meals? Right now I'm looking at Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern, Donald's breakfast at Tusker House, and possibly Hollywood & Vine (for the playhouse Disney characters).
We will have a 7DS, 5DS, 3DS, and 22 monthsDD.
What do you think?

Not that bad really, I think we did about the same amount

Hollywood and Vine
Crystal Palace
Liberty Tree Tavern
Donalds
Garden Grill

I scheduled 5 out of 7 TS meals as Characters. For us, we feel like we can dine at a regular restaraunt at home....and a Disney, why not dine with the Characters. We can't get that at home!( Again...that is just our opinion for our family.

We do a lot of character meals.

This trip (2 weeks) we booked:

Liberty Tree Tavern
Crystal Palace
Chef Mickeys
CRT
PSB
Donald's Safari Breakfast
1900 Park Fare
Ohana Breakfast

Another favorite of ours kids (not character) is Sci-Fi. They also really like Ohana for dinner (non-character).

Awww. Well we already have Playhouse Disney Play & Dine set for our day at DHS. Maybe our next Disney trip we'll do Sci Fi.

I don't think that's too many character meals. We are doing 6 character dinings on our trip. We like the character dinings for the fact that they are buffets with the exception of LTT so everyone can pick out what they like to eat. Also, we get character interaction which is nice so we won't have to wait in line at the parks for meet and greets with charcters. My son loved the characters last year! :)
