Ok, my mom says I have too many character meals. What do you think?
Crystal Palace
Sci Fi (non character)
Coral Reef (non character)
CRT
Princess Tea Party and Whispering Canyon (non-character)
Akershus
Hoop Dee Doo

My DD will turn 5 on this trip. She loves characters. My mom said I didn't want to have to be some where every day for a certain time. I told her that the dining plan gives you one sit down a day and I dont' want to be hunting for that sit down meal every day....so I'm booking ressies. Might as well go all out huh?

What do you think? What do you think of the restaurants I picked? I have ressies at all of them already.

I don't think you have too many.
We always do at least 3 or 4 every trip...sometimes more.

The best part of Character meals is not having to wait in line at the parks to see them.

You dont have too many planned :-)

If your DD loves characters, then I don't think you have too many. We ate at 3 on our last trip and will probably end up doing 3 or 4 on our next trip. It is great not having to wait in lines for the characters! I also think you did the right think by making the ressies. Have a magical trip!:wizard:

I thikn you did fine- I might have rethought it if you had the same characters over and over again, but you changed it up a bit. Looks good!

Sounds like you'll have lots of fun at your meals! :thumbsup2
I didn't get a chance to read your pre-trippie yet, but I'm wondering how many days you will be there, and if you will be on the regular dining plan or the deluxe dining plan. If you're on the regular dining plan, keep in mind the double credits required for Hoop Dee Doo, Cindy's and Akershus.

Is your mother joining you on the trip? If so then her "opinion" matters. You know what they say about Momma being happy. :rolleyes1

I wouldn't say you have too many, but if you had less that would be OK too. If you are paying OOP for any of your meals (not the tea party) then I'd probably drop something and use a CS credit for that meal. The resort CS meals are pretty good and filling. You can make that decision once you're on your trip. If one morning or evening the pool sounds better than another big meal, cancel and eat "at home" and enjoy your resort. Listen to your body and your 5yo. She's only 5 so if she doesn't get to do or see it all this trip, hopefully she'll get another chance. ;)

We took a 5yo boy on a bday trip and actually only did one character meal, Chef Mickey's and he loved it and the characters in general. We also did a Magical Beginning morning(offered in the Sep/Oct) so he got to play and ride with the characters and we went to a Playhouse Disney party in MGM where Goofy, Pluto and Mickey showed up as well(EMH night). We only had 5TS credits, but also did Coral Reef, Narcoossee's(they treated him well as the bday boy), Boma and Hollywood and Vine for Fantasmic seating. We paid OOP for one TS meal and canceled another while we were there, spent the AM at the pool instead.

Have a magical trip.

I dont think you can ever have too many character meals.

I had a hard time with my ressies this trip because I thought I had too many buffets....needed to try more menu places.

Eep your mom would hate mine! We are doing the DxDDP and planned two TS a day (A very Early Breakfast and than Dinner or a late Lunch) And We ended up with 9! Character Meals

1900 Park Fare (twice- breakfast and dinner)
'Ohana Character Breakfast
Chef Mickey’s Breakfast
Garden Grill Lunch
Crystal Buffet Lunch
Tucker House Breakfast
Akershus Princess Breakfast
Cinderella Royal Table Lunch

My DD6 Loves Characters and would have me hunting them down at parks so this way we can eat and sit in the nice AC while she gets to meet them. Personally I think it is great.

I agree with other people. You are fine. Last trip we did Garden Grill, Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern and Mickey Backyard BBQ. This year I can't wait to do Chef Mickey's!!!

That's a lot of character dining, but if you and your family enjoy the characters, why not do it?

Realize that in most character meals, each character will come by, sign a book, take a picture, maybe share a couple of greetings with each child - that's it.

That being said, we love character meals, and do at least three each time we go.

To me that is a lot of character dining. I do one or maybe 2. However, given the age of your child, that might be pretty enjoyable for her. If you feel she would like this more than waiting in line, then you should stick with it. You have a good variety of characters as well. :)

I don't think you have too many. We actually have more than that scheduled for August. Besides, character meals are so much fun!

I personaly dont think you can ever have too many character meals. That's all part of Disney for my family!

You have to eat somewhere, with little kids, and some big ones, sitting at sit down dinner is hard. At the character meals you don't have to worry about it when your little ones can not sit still. I am planning on 3-4 our trip also.

Well I think I have more then you do... LOL... I figure it will be a nice break... sit down... air conditioned... plus gives us the chance to see the characters so while we are in the parks we can do other things... :) our DD will be 4 when we go....

We are going
Askerhaus Breakfast
Cape May Breakfast
Chef Mickeys Breakfast
1900 Park Fair Breakfast
CRT - Lunch
Crystal Palace Breakfast

JEESH they are all breakfast's except CRT... LOL... but we have Signature Rests planned for Dinners

Is your mom going?

We always do 2 or 3 characters...we really enjoy them...it beats standing in line.
