Started my dining plans for next year :) and after looking over things I am wondering if I have too many buffet style meals...what do you all think:confused3

Liberty Tree Tavern
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Coral Reef
Biergarten
Crystal Palace
Hollywood & Vine ?? or Mama Melrose?? Fantasmic Package
1900 Park Faire ?? or another non/park restaurant??

Thanks

Hi,

Not trying to be technical, but LTT and WCC are not buffets...they are meals served family style. The differences are: fewer choices than in a buffet, and family style meals are preplated and brought to your table with as many "refills" as you like. You don't need to keep getting up and going over to a serving line.

Only you can decide if you have too many buffets. It really depends on what your family likes to do for meals. I like buffets, but tend to schedule only 1 or 2 per visit.

If it sounds good to you, go for it! Personally, we love buffets, especially with some kids >10 and some <10. We've been looking at the food pictures thread, and I can already tell we're going to have some issues this trip, now that my dd is in the >10 group and my ds is still in the <10 group. He wants her choices, she wants his choices. . . sigh. The buffet meals, where everyone has access to the same things, will be so much easier.

Besides, I'm guessing your teenagers will be eager to finish their meals and get back to the rides. You can usually get through a buffet a little quicker than you can a regular TS meal.

We tend to do a lot of buffets too....but not on the same day. We love CP and Cape May for breakfasts, then we skip lunch and have a nice not too heavy dinner. When we do CP, Cape May or Beirgarten for dinner we usually share CS for breakfast and lunch.

I think you get so much more for your money with a buffet, not because you get to pig out but because you can sample so many different foods and the beverages are included.

If there are children in your group the nice thing about buffets is they get to eat exactly what the adults eat, if they choose to. So buffets are a great kids DDP value. I like the choice offered via buffet and I can eat at my pace and be sure to get my fill. Buffet or all you care to eat also allow you to fuel up and wait longer for the next meal.

We have 5 ADRs on our trip, 3 are buffets (Chef Mickey's(B), Boma(D), H&V Fantasmic). Narcoossee's(D) and Coral Reef(L) are our others. We are vegetarians and its just easier to select/inspect and get our fill at buffets. I am also a fan of sampling, esp. dessert. I think our 5yo will eat better at a buffet, kids menu not very vegetarian friendly. I would rather he not eat just pizza and mac and cheese everyday (though it would suit him just fine)!

Thanks for all the responses...I think I will most likely stick with what I have. It's always just good to hear other peoples opinions.
