Too many breakfast ADRs?

I made breakfast ADRs at the Wave on 5/22 and 5/24 - both at 7:30 and both MK days. I made one for Kouzzina on 5/23 for an Epcot day, also 7:30 a.m and then Boma for my AK day on 5/27, also at 7:30. I guess I'm figuring on about an hour at each place - because I absolutely want to do rope drop. Is this too much? I figure on 5/25, also Epcot, I can graze on pastries or maybe get something at Sunshine Seasons - not sure what I want to do on my last full day. Something nice, I think, but O'hana is closed out.....

In any case, have I overplanned? I'm the kind of gal that must eat something for breakfast - period. It doesn't have to be a big breakfast, but it has to be at least something like cereal and a banana. Again, though, the priority is making rope drop. I don't intend to wolf down my breakfasts and get a tummy ache in the process, but I would like to think I could be out of there in an hour or so.

Thoughts? Thanks!!

I like breakfast TS too but then I get too full and dont want to rush to the parks.

MK has a great CS breakfast at the MS Bakery and Epcot has Sunshine Seasons but you will lose park time by eating there

Does your resort have a nice CS you can eat at?

Maybe you can do TS breakfast on a day you are going to skip rope drop?

When we go for our short stays we do just 1 TS breakfast and for our 10 day stay just 2 or 3.

I think its too much to be honest. I scheduled 3-4 character breakfasts for a 10 day trip and we only made it to 2 of them. Lol. It was too exhausting waking up before 7am while on vacation. I'd honestly cut out some breakfasts, or schedule a later breakfast. Or like the previous poster said, do a quick service at your resort.

I would cut a few to make the opening ceremony at mk at least. We only do 2 TS breakfasts each trip as you do need some early starts to beat he crowds...and you don't want to do some rides with a full tummy or feel rushed whilst eating, enjoy fewer breakfasts.

We generally bring breakfast food (or get desserts "to go" and save them) for breakfasts. It just takes too much time in the morning to get up early, travel to your ADR, wait to be seated, etc.

We do book 1 or 2 character breakfasts though, because we enjoy the entertainment as well as the food.

I will book character breakfasts at around 10am and it will be like a brunch for us. That way we can snack in the afternoon and have a good dinner.

I think it's too much ... and we love eating TS breakfasts! It is tiring every morning waking up that early to make sure you make your ADR and then get in the park for rope drop or close to when the park opens. Staying at Epcot resort area, we tend to do more TS breakfasts - we will walk to Kouzzina, or eat at Captain's Grill, or Boardwalk bakery (although that's CS). When we were at GF, we ate at Gaspirella's Grill (sp?) almost every morning. We change up what we do depending on where we are staying.

Bottom line: I don't think it hurts to keep the ADR's and once on your trip, if you decide you don't want to go, you don't have to go (although I would give a call just to be polite to let them know you aren't coming). Every park has a spot you can grab a breakfast, or you could eat at your CS spot in your hotel.

That is a lot of early mornings, IMO. Even the earliest risers need a morning or 2 to sleep in a little after being in the parks all day. Also, where are you staying? Will you have a car on site? Without a car you will have a pretty hard time making it to some of those ADR's if you aren't staying in the area or will have to budget in extra money for cab rides on those morning.

I'm staying at the Contemporary, sorry - I should have mentioned that. The Wave is at the CR, so it's no problem for me to get there, but I admit that the idea of rushing through breakfast to make rope drop isn't very appealing. I don't know if CR has any CS restaurants for breakfast. I suppose I could pick up something at Main Street bakery - Mickey Nicki, that's a great idea. I could also pick something up the evening before (a muffin, a banana, something like that) and have those for breakfast the next morning. Epcot WS will be filled with things I can pick up as some sort of snack. The goods from Norway seem particuarly breakfast like - will they stay relatively fresh overnight?

Also, If I can rent a refrigerator at CR, then I can possibly buy milk and cereal; is there any place in the CR or at a park where I can buy these things? Since I love cereal, I have no problem having that in my room.........

Ok, I'm going to drop the majority of these TS, but which ones? Kouzzina sounds like it has a great breakfast (the menu sounds delish), but I would have to get up very early for that. I could do the Wave on my 2nd MK day and maybe Boma on my AK day and that's it.

Thoughts again?

Thanks so much for all of your help - I agree, WAY too much big breakfasts.

I guess I have the opposite strategy. I only do one TS breakfast each trip, and the rest of the time, I either eat a quick breakfast in my room or grab a bite at the resort's CS restaurant if I'm in the mood for other types of breakast food. Don't want to waste valuable park time in the morning (when the parks are the least crowded) eating TS meals!

I'm not a big breakfast eater, so I usually just have cereal and fruit in my room. I stay at POR and have a mini-fridge, so I can keep milk and juice in my room. It's a time-saver and a money-saver, too!

We're doing TS breakfast each day of our trip..most before parks open.

MK day - park opens at 9 - Crystal palace at 8:05
AK day - park opens at 9 - tusker house at 8:05
Chill day - Kona breakfast at 9:40
HS day - park opens at 9 - H&V at 8:35
Epcot/departure day - Akershus at 9:20

Well I don't have a strategy - it's been 15 years since I've been to DW, lol. I think I'm going to cancel my ADRs (except for maybe Boma and/or Kouzzina) and then just rent a fridge (if I can do that at CR) to keep milk and juice. I'll just have early lunches anyway since I probably will snacking all the time, lol. I definitely do NOT want to waste time in the AM - the rope drop is very important to me.

Just wanted to let you know that the rooms at the CR have a small refridge. in them so no need to rent one!

CR also has a counter service so you can get breakfast from them. There is also a store to buy milk & juice and other foods right there at the CR.

Have a wonderful stay!

CR does have a great counter service breakfast. I think you will enjoy it. The wave also normally isn't crowded at breakfast time so if you happen to be up you can walk down there to eat.

Just know that if you do a 7:30 at Boma and you don't have a car you are going to need to be at the bus stop at like 6:45! :scared1: You also will still miss RD ... think hour to eat and then another wait for the bus. Probably won't miss it by much but you'll miss it.

Getting to Kouzzini's at that time of morning will be a challenge too... it might be worth a cab ride.

if you're going to buy pastries for breakfast (we often do this as we leave park for the day...stop at bakery & get a goodie) just make sure you pack a clean 2-gallon size ziplock baggie to store the pastry overnight...they either pack the pastries in wax paper in a paper bag, or in a non-airtight styrofoam box. Some of the pastries are big enough they put them in an entree-size styrofoam box and that will not fit in a 1 gallon size ziplock. We learned the hard way that the to-go boxes and the paper bags do not keep the items fresh.

also, if you really want table-service breakfasts, keep The Wave ADRs, but dump Kouzzina & Boma...too hard to get to & from in the AM (Boma is at AK Lodge, not the park, so you'd have to do some traveling to get from there to AK...you'd never make rope-drop)

Kona Cafe over are Polynesian, and Grand Floridian Cafe at the Grand Flor. both have good breakfasts...and are on the monorail so you can hop it easily from Contemporary, then eat & catch bus to the park you want to go to. Our experience at these two restaurants at 7:30 is we were seated immediately in a nearly empty restaurant and were done in about 40 minutes..so you'd be heading to the monorail or bus stop by 8:15. Which means you'd have a shot at getting to rope drop...if you miss it, probably won't be my much.

Hi Colleen

Ooh, that's fantastic news........I'm so happy now, lol.

I will have a wonderful stay - thank you!

Oh boy. Thanks for the tips! I was going to cab it to AK for my dinner ADRs......I guess I could do it for breakfast, but I'm not sure it's worth it. Much as the idea of a nice breakfast is appealing to me, I can do that at home - I'd rather get to the park at rope drop and beat the crowds. I suppose Kouzzina on my last full day would work, but I want to beat the crowds to get in as my rides as possible........ I think really only the Wave will work for me. I think I'll cancel all of the reservations and just wing it - maybe have breakfast at the Wave, but if not, just have cereal and/or banana/muffins/pastries kind of thing.

That's a great tip - I love Ziploc bags and bring extra with me all the time. I will make a point to bring the big ones........thanks!

Yep, that's what I'm going to do. I love a good breakfast, but I love Disney parks more. I'm not that married to having big breakfasts - I'll be eating all day anyway, so maybe it's a good thing if I just have cereal or some light pastry. I'll cancel my ADRs and let others have them.. Thanks a lot!
