Free DDP Booking SUCCESS!!? - Post 'Em Here!

i booked CBR for sept 12 - 17 with FREE DINING!!!!!!!!!!! a me and mom trip!
we were hoping to go later and get f&w festival tied in.....oh well! i made my adr's 2 weeks ago, so we are set! airfare went down $120.00 for both since friday too!!!

and i got right through at 9:30am....no holding!

I guess all of those people that said it was dumb to book a ressie hoping to apply free dining before it actually came out were wrong.

My understanding was not that it would be difficult or impossible to apply the discount, but that if lots of rooms were already booked, Disney wouldn't need to offer a discount to fill up the resorts. That's why I waited until today, anyway.

I sooooo hope it's true that you can simply modify the exsisting ressie. It sure does seem like alot of trouble to cancel and then try to rebook. With the way ressies are flying off the shelf it would stand to reason that the room you cancel could be whisked away while trying to reserve another !?!?!

The OP was talking about a completely different code and different resort. Maybe even differnt dates.. That is why I think they may not just swap the deposit.

I had a package booked with my Disney Visa, and called this AM and had the code applied. That is modifying an existing reservation and they certainly used the same deposit with no problem!

I was literally on hold for 56 min when the call was disconnected! I was mortified, I called again and waited another 38 min before I got through! Got 5 day base at Riverside (Sept. 15-20) for $1,300 and change.

This is crazy but I don't have my physical Visa card I transferred balances last year and cut the card. But I get the bills of course . Do I need other info. or should I call Visa. I know sometimes they want the exp. date which doesn't seem to be on my bill or that 3 code thingie. I used my master card/debit for everything.

They only asked for my Visa number, not the expiration date or code on the back.

I got what I wanted! Called 800-828-0228 and waited 15 minutes, got cut off in the middle of conversation, so I called back and waited 12 minutes. Reservation was in the system and the way I wanted it. (Whew!)

POP 9/18 - 9/26, 8 nights, 2 adults, 1 day base ticket for $886.30. I had a 40% code already, different dates that I had tried to change earlier but couldn't change. With Free Dining I was able to change dates to the dates I wanted! I added one more night and still saved $ with free dining. My Disney Visa deposit was transfered and I got the same confirmation number.

Like many, I was on hold for a ridiculously long time this morning...95 minutes! It was sorta my own fault because I did not get up early enough to call at exactly 7 am and it was almost 7:30 before I dialed Disney.

At least I was able to book precisely what we wanted...POFQ, 2 standard rooms, 3 adults, 4 kids, and 5 day base tickets with free dining. The cm I dealt with said they he had over 200 calls in the que when he spoke to me, and he also had real computer issues with everything taking a loooooong time.

We just had to modify or ressie and have the same confirmation number. Did not have to cancel and rebook. I'm not sure if it was because they had std rooms available at WL under free dining, or if they are just applying the code this time around.

It was defnitely because rooms were available when you called that you got your room. So while you were lucky others might not be due to prebooking before the dates.

Also the time period was shortened due to bookings being so heavy. I am glad you were able to book, but I don't think I would be assuming that booking in advance is a good thing. Depending on how many prebooked and will now cancel, affected the length of the offer and the number of rooms offered.

Called the 800# at 11:45, was on hold 10 minutes or so.

Was able to modify an existing reservation and get CBR from 9/17-22 for 2 adults for $1260.94 (with 6 day base MYW)



Though he made me put down a second deposit of $200, for $400 total. I'm not sure what that was about. It didn't add anything to my total, just means that I owe less when it comes due.

I was on hold for 50 minutes and got dissconnected!! I then called back with my home phone and my cell phone and both were on hold for about 40 minutes before I got through on my home phone. Success!!!! We got 2 rooms at POP, 5 nights, for 2 adults and 4 teens with 1 day base passes for $1362. We will be upgrading the passes to 6 day hoppers(eventually).Disney here we come

BTW, seems as if a lot of us are planning on MNSSHP on 9/28 (ME TOO!!!) Maybe we could have a DIS meet before the party or something? Just an idea with so many people at so many different resorts. Thoughts??

I was on hold 5 minutes, max, at 10:30 Mountain time.

Just booked our Magical Gatherings trip for 9/14-9/23. I called at 11:55 and was on hold 20 minutes. We were able to get 3 standard rooms at Pop. I am so excited!

I called one hour ago using the 1-800 #. I was on hold for about 5 minutes. Upgraded our current reservations for 9/21-9/28 POR standard view. Total for 8 nights lodging, 6 day PH w/ waterparks plus trip insurance was $2038.

The CM wouldn't let me modify my parent's reservation, even though I had all the paperwork; only people listed ON the reservation are able to modify it. So I had DDad call in and he upgraded without any problem.

I booked WL Woods View for 8 nights 8/26 - 9/3, plus a 7 day park hopper for 2 adults for $2690.54.

It works out to be almost $1000 cheaper than my previous reservation. I had booked 4 nights at the Dolphin, 4 nights at Poly with the 40% discount. That would have come out to almost $2000, plus the airfare and the amount of money I would need for meals would put the vacation cost to $4,000+.

With it this way, I'm paying almost $3,100 with the airfare but I don't have to save an additional $1,000 which I was worried about how I was going to save it.

I don't know, I got standard at the WL when I transferred from code to DDP and I keep reading that there are no standard rooms available by other members. Could be I got the only standard view at WL OR could be they just transferred the discount from the 40% code to DDP . I'm just glad it worked and I'm hoping it works for EVERYONE.

Same here. I keep reading that no one is able to book standard view at WL.
That was what our ressie was for, and they just refunded our ddp. Still have a std view. Same conf. number.

We would have gone free ddp or not, so I booked in Jan. I'm glad we did, or we would have had to pay for a woods/courtyard view if we had waited until today to book.

I think the dates they arranged for the promotion have more to do with Fl school dates and F&W than how many rooms had already been booked. JMO
