Too Late for HDDR?

I have been planning meals like a maniac and have realized that there is no way we will use all of our dining credits so I was thinking of adding HDDR to our plans. We are arriving at WDW October 1. Would it be worth it to book HDDR now or are they already so full that our seats would be awful? We can probably do any one of the showings. Is the earliest one less crowded or would the 9:30 be a better choice? I would imagine the middle one is the most crowded...any thoughts?

At that time of year, I don't think you'll find it packed. We went in May to the 930 show and the floor wasn't even half full - and May is an "off peak" time like October as well. I wouldn't be scared away from doing it at this point - I think most people schedule it a couple of months out anyways.

I do agree that the middle show is probably the most crowded, with the earlier and later being better. If you have small children, I would discourage the late show only because the kids around us all fell asleep right after they ate! Poor moms and dads were holding sleeping kids through the end of it.

We had no problem booking HDDR at less than 30 days out (for our Aug trip). We did book the 9:30 show but that was only because we get a discount that is only valid at that time.

Last Jan we went to the middle show, if my memory serves me we booked it while we were there, no problems getting a PS. It was definantly a full house though.

last year we booked HDDR only a week or two in advance and had great seats halfway thru the room along the side... perfect for my ds who makes frequent potty trips! LOL! i don't think it's ever a bad time to book HDDR -- a family fave now
