Stupidly waited until today to book for Discovery Cove for July but as I wanted it to be a surprise for my daughter I waited until she was back at school and now I am finding all the UK tickets suppliers have no tickets left.

I have found two sites where they have them at £155 but none at the sites where they are £139

I decided to check out ordering via the Discovery Cove website itself and according to that they have availability for all dates in July and when reaching the end and doing a conversion of prices it comes out at £438 for three tickets.

My question is, does anyone know of a US website that may be slightly cheaper? Up till now I have only really been investigating UK websites for all tickets and haven't really checked out US websites.

I would be grateful for any help while my Discovery Cove tickets sit in my basket waiting for the final payment details :sunny:

I'm sure if you hunt on these boards you'll find heaps of suggestions for us tickets. have you tried undercovertourist and attractionticketsdirect? you probably have so sorry, just my suggestion!

There is a separate Sea World/Discovery Cove forum. Have you tried trawling through there yet? If not, here is the link http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=32

When we went in 2004 we booked through a travel agent and luckily (because of the exchange rate) got the 14 day Busch Gardens tickets at a comparable rate to booking with Discovery cove itself. Normally you will pay more booking through a Uk travel agent because they have to cover themselves for fluctuations in the exchange rate. Next time we go I will book with Discovery Cove itself. If you can get it any cheaper through US sites, I'm sure you will find the links on the DC forum.

Hope you'll be lucky, whatever you decide you will have a wonderful day there!!! It truly is a magical day!:flower:

My children are booked for July cost $275(£147) and $245 incl Tax(SW AP rate) direct from their website and recieved the confirmation letter the following week(you need this to get in) I suggest go for it ASAP you might save a dollor or two but you may risk not getting the day you want

Grrrrr, not my day today! I went back to finish the transaction on the Discovery Cove website and it was down for essential maintenance :confused3

I will keep checking it later tonight and just book through there, at least they have tickets for every day in July so I can pick the day we want.

Planning on 8 July if anyone else is going that day??

8th of July, now that sounds familiar- oh yes! that's when me and DD are going to DC :)
If you spot a harassed looking woman being rescued by a lifeguard, that will probably be me! not terribly good at swimming (blush)
Hope you get your tickets sorted soon

Bev

Fight you for the lifeguard, if he is a handsome guy :cool1:

All booked now for 8 July, the difficult bit will be keeping it a secret from my daughter and my friend from NZ who is joining us in Florida. I am so excited about it so I'll just have to shout here :Pinkbounc:Pinkbounc:Pinkbounc

We are staying at the Pop and not hiring a car so my next question is how easy or difficult is it to get to DC and what sort of time will it take to get there?

we kept it a secret from our children right up to the time we reached the desk and had our photo's taken. As we had tried to book but there was no spaces left for August (last year) so we told the boys that it was fully booked and then about 3 weeks before we travelled I looked at the DC sight and they had slots on 2/3 days during our stay, so we booked but did not tell the boys, on the day we said we had a surprise for them and that it was a little way from Orlando so we had to get up early but on the way we would call into DC and book our swim for next years holiday (this August), so we parked and queued and still they did not suspect, eldest DS asked why we had to queue and I told him that we did not want to miss out for next year as well and lets get it booked. When it was our time to go to the podium we handed over our letter and then they finally realised that this was the surprise they were so excited that even the lady serving us had tears in her eyes, she said that she had not had any other children as excited as the boys were. Could you not tell your daughter that you are calling in there just in case they have any cancellations for your stay! Have a great time - and I just hope your lifegaurd is a man!!!!

Hi all

Well I've also booked this for my Son's 7th Birthday. DS and DH will do the swim and DD and I will stand at the side. Unfortunately she won't be six till August so is too young.

I've also arranged the brithday package - cake and life bouy - as a surprise but DS knows about the swim. I was too excited to keep it a secret. I booked it yesterday via DC direct for July 3rd!!!

Can anyone who has done this tell me how close non-swimmers get to those who are swimming with the dolphins?

hi

the coves are in a clam shape with 4 or more groups within youre own area.if you are on the edge /sides of the group it is hard to see too well as they are about 15 m away.IF they are at the base then you will probably be only 5m away. They do start close to the shore but then move to deeper water for the dolphin tow. There is normally 7 or 8 people in a group.

hope this helps

I love all these surprise ideas, I think it makes each trip different from the last, trying to think of ways to surprise my fellow guests (newbies) but I have great problems not blabbing about it 'cos i get too excited

Hello,

I also have found it difficult to source tickets from the UK, so i rang Discovery Cove today, and they had plenty of tickets.

I booked with them direct at a cost of $276 (swim x 2), and $170 (non-swim x 1). These prices converted back to just below £385 for all 3 tickets.

Just got to book the other tickets now from best4attractions !!!

i just booked our disney tickets today through them, did it on the website and
oh within 20 minutes someone phoned for my credit card details, very quick and painless, tll the cc bill comes in :wizard:
