Is anyone else watching this show? Am I the only one that loves it? I just want to cheer on Tanisha all the way!! I think this show is inspirational. And scary.

Yes, I caught it this past weekend. It really was shocking. I'm impressed with the kids and the parents for being able to stay apart from each other for 4 months, and for coming up with such a huge amount of money. I think the people who work with the kids seem like wonderful, compassionate people. I really hope they all find success.

I have been watching the show. I feel so bad for those kids. My thoughts are that the kids did not get this way themselves. You can teach them how to eat healthy but if they go home and are fed junk by the parents, they will end up in the same boat all over again. Does anyone know if they have classes for the parents to attend as part of the whole process?

I agree the parents need to learn too. There is one mom in particular, ahem..... that seems to have created a little monster. It is apparent once he gets home he will get whatever he wants again.

I caught a bit of this on monday. The episode was the family visits and leaving for the weekend. These are the two that stood out to me, in the short time that I got to watch.

Tanisha - WOW. She seems to have a wonderful outlook on life and the knowledge that she needs to make a change in her life. She was so positive in doing what she needs to do to loss the weight. I love how she is a reader. I had to laugh at how excited she got at all the books and how she just kept tossing book after book into the cart.

Terinna - WOW and not in a positive way. Someone really needs to take a limb off of the tree of life and smack her upside her head. She does not have the right frame of mind to know she is in serious trouble with her weight and that she needs to make MAJOR changes. She was utterly rude to the staff member who picked her and the cousin up at the airport. If I had been driving and trying to have a conversation with them - they would have lost those phones/ipods/game systems they were so focused on. Then to tell me, you don't like me and laugh about it. The girls head would have been rolling. Lets see how much your laughing when your in my next class/session.

I was mostly concerned for Scotty. He and his mom are way too codependent. I had to keep reminding myself that he is FIFTEEN not 8. I think Terinna & Scotty are not "getting it" and will gain all the weight bacj when they go home. I think little Emily is going to do great.

I find this whole voyeuristic genre of TV shows disgusting, particularly where children are concerned.

I'm really familiar with the area where Scotty lives and there have been several news articles about him lately. He seems to be doing very well, although the family is desperately trying to get the money together to send him back for another 4 months. That school isn't cheap.

Terinna. I don't know why but I really like her. I think she's loud and obnoxious and full of life. Like most teens.

I saw Tanisha on the Today show last week I think - wow is she doing well. I wish nothing but the best for her.
