Hi! According to mapquest, we are 15 minutes from MK and I was wondering if it is feasible to go back for a nap/break. I am just not that familiar with the area and parking lot layouts, but knowing here in DC that 15 minutes on mapquest can mean 40 minutes real time with traffic, I thought I better check to see before I plan on it.

Thanks so much for your help!!!

We stay on grounds since we are DVC owners and we always go back for naps. It usually takes us at least an hour to stop what we are doing and haul it back to our on-site resort, just with having to get through a park, parking lot (tram), or walk, or take a boat (we usually don't take busses since we rent a car). It is a long haul either way. Not sure about where you are staying, but it will take some extra time on top of that. My DS won't nap in the stroller, so we do it no matter what. In the end it's worth it. I hope it works out for you either way!

when i was a nanny we stayed off property near Seaworld and we did go back for naps. it wasn't too bad and it was much better than fighting cranky, hot kids who didn't get their naps. when you go w/small children to some extent you just have to accept that you will see what you can see and save the rest for next time. and you can always play it by ear--maybe one day the kids will nap in their strollers and you can find a cool, quiet spot to relax.
have a great trip!!!

It's good to know it can be done. Our resort appears to be about 10 min from Seaworld, so we'll have to just wing it. I'm not as worried about the time away from the park since we are also doing the pirate and princess party and the 2nd day at MK will be a bonus, but we really don't want to take half a day to take a break. I'm crossing fingers that she will nap in her stroller for me, especially Animal Kingdom day because it seems way too short a day to get away for much time. We are going to lunch at the Rainforest Cafe so I'm hoping that will be enough of a break from the heat that day.

Thanks so much!

I would say it could be done. I stayed in Indian Creek and it was fine about 15 mins or so. I was also about 15 mins from seaworld as well. We went back everyday in the afternoon for naps and didnt return until after dinner. Good luck and have fun

Glad to read this post. We're renting a house and it says "only 10 minutes from Disney".. but you never know. My son is a BEAR without his naps, I know he'll need them.. so I'm happy to hear it's doable and worth it.
