Too Early for Rose & Crown?

We love watching Illuminations from the Rose & Crown patio. We usually get a 7:30 reservation and that works perfectly. However we are going in November and the latest reservation I can get is 6:45. I'm wondering if over two hours is too long for us to take up a table?

I was wondering the same thing. I have a 7pm ADR in October.

They'll let you sit for that long (I've never seen them ask a party to leave even if they've finished eating), but it's a matter of if you want to spend that much time waiting and there is no guarentee that you'll get a patio table. Also, it also depends on if you get seated on time.

I would keep trying to get a bit later of an ADR to avoid spending so much time waiting for the show to start.

We had a 6:45 reservation, and we were done by 8:00. I don't think that they would have minded if we stayed (it was a rainy night and there were a lot of empty tables by the time we left), but I felt weird just sitting there, so we left and found an Illuminations viewing spot around the lagoon.

We have friends who make Rose & Crown ADRs every time they visit WDW (twice a year, they are DVC owners.) This past May was the first time that it did not turn out to be wonderful. That night Rose & Crown's patio was downwind of Illuminations. They were in the smoke from the fireworks and even ended up with some ash on their plates and on themselves. I don't think it will deter them from booking again for Illuminations dinner time but they will book a little on the early side and if the winds are unfavorable they'll move when they finish eating.
