Is it to early to plan and book for Christmas 2019? We are planning December 23-27 2019. What do we need to know? We will be going with a 15yr old and 8yr old.

Of course its not too early especially if your dates include Christmas Eve/Christmas day and beyond.
I'd book it now because the closer you get the less availability you'll find for what you specifically want.
Main thing you need to know is that it will be absolutely packed so pack your patience and don't expect that you will get the same amount done that you do other times of the year.

We booked for December 2019 on December 30! It’s never too early to book a trip. With Star Wars opening in the fall, it’s also a good idea to book now, before they announce the official date! That way you can reserve the resort that you want!

You'll be dealing with Star Wars opening near that time, so I would book as soon as you can. Once they announce a date it will get crazy.
Star Wars is one of the main reasons we want to go during this time. Also it coincides with winter break and is the kids Christmas present this year.

Book everything as early as possible. From resort to dining, to FP+

Check out some of the recent posts about the crowds during the recent holiday period to get a feel for what you will face.

I would expect massive crowds with long, long waits for everything, thus planning will be at a premium.

I would also look for upsell events for the new Star Wars area popping up that could help.

On the financial front, I would expect no discounts or deals, so budget accordingly.

I just booked for a Christmas 2019 trip also! We just went Dec 19-24 and my biggest tip is to take advantage of EMH. We got a lot of rides in at MK by getting there early (arrived around 6:30 for a 7:00 am EMH opening). Also, we got a great picture with the castle lit up in the background since it was before sunrise:) We booked early FP and then made as many additional fast passes as possible to avoid waiting in standby lines. We also took advantage of an Epcot EMH where we rode Soarin’ with minimal wait time. Happy planning!!!

just be prepared for crazy crowd levels! also ADR's are especially a must for that week. but if you plan well it'll still be magical! :-)

I'm going in December - booked a few months ago! I don't think it's ever too early to plan when you have less than a year to go. Especially with December this year and the madness that will be Star Wars.

Be prepared for crazier crowds than you could imagine! We just got back the 24th-4th and the fast pass line for HM was over an hour wait. Go with a solid plan and expectations not to ride everything

Is there a calendar out yet that shows the EMH for the parks during Christmas week? We just booked 12/26-1/2 and are trying to plan out our days at the parks!

If you take a look at what days they are offered in each park now they should remain the same.... or at least have in recent history. The hours usually get extended a month or 2 ahead of time during the busy season. Of course the opening of galaxies edge could change all of that.

We have been booked for early December since this past October with a bounceback offer. It is not too early.

You are way too early for that. Park hours are on a 180 day rolling calendar and December dates won't even be finalized until November.
You can look at 3rd party sites but remember it's only their best guess.

I've already booked for my NYE trip. The earlier the better for rooms and plane tickets - 6 months out for dining reservations then 60 days out for your FP!
