It seems no one every mentions this restaurant on here. Is it just overlooked b/c of CP, CRT and BOG? Or is it overlooked b/c well it just isn't good?

We ate there on our first trip in 1998. I want to say we had breakfast there but I see breakfast is no longer an option. (Or it wasn't then either and I'm just remembering wrong.)

We weren't impressed when we ate there. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't delicious either--just plain. We didn't leave hungry, but it was just meh. It reminded me of Ragu. Too many other great places we enjoy so we won't try it again.

I had an early dinner here a couple of years ago. I suggest the patio or the covered garden area in the front (I can't think of the proper term for this atm) but they are very pretty. I thought that the food was pretty good. It didn't blow me away, but then, most of the food options in MK don't! If I was making a TS ADR for MK and it wasnt for CRT, this would probably be my choice.

I enjoy the food there. It's one of my favorites. I would recommend lunch or patio, though. It get VERY busy and VERY loud during busy times.

Yes and kind of...I do think that Tony's gets "forgotten" in some sense because it isn't as new as BOG, it doesn't have the same cache as CRT, and it doesn't have characters like CP. It's more like LTT, in that it's just a regular restaurant without anything "extra".

That being said, you mostly see folks asking questions about Tony's in reference to being able to see fireworks or the parade.

In terms of food, it kind of runs hot and cold. Sometimes threads are very positive about the food, other times it's consider the weakest of the MK restaurants. I haven't been in several years, but the last time I went it was meh. Nothing outstanding, but also nothing horrendously awful either. I much prefer BOG, CRT, and LTT if I'm eating in the MK.

We usually eat once at LTT and once at Tony's every trip. We've done Cindy's and my kids are older now/not into Princesses so we don't need that, same for Crystal Palace. Haven't been since BoG opened, but the nighttime menu doesn't seem like it would be good for our picky kids, so we may just do a lunch there.

LTT is definitely our favorite: the location and theming are great, and we don't like the character. The lunch menu where everyone can order what they want is perfect for us. Tony's is fun, but a little less enjoyable.

Since we're not into characters, we think the theming at Tony's is just right (like the Italian restaurant from Lady & the Tramp) and the waiting area is really nice. There is an old fashioned music machine there... forget what it's called... and DH really loves it (he's a bit of a music geek). The food is similar to Olive Garden (this being said by someone who loves the Olive Garden) although less plentiful (no unlimited refills). It's a really good place if you plan to park hop. Get to MK at rope drop, then make your way to Tony's for a noon ADR, then hop to the next park. This means you spend the busiest hours of the day eating and hopping, avoiding the longest lines.

So I wouldn't say it's wildly fantastic, but if you want pasta and flatbread pizza, then it's fine, with a nice dollop of Disney theming.

Of all the Italian restaurants in DW, Tony's is at the bottom of my list. My pasta was mushy because it had been overcooked and the sauce was bland. The Lady and the Tramp decor is cute, but unless you're a fan of the movie I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

WDW restaurants are never as good OR as bad as the reviews you read here.

It's all personal preference. Everyone has their favorite Italian restaurant where they eat at home once a month. Tony's, or anyplace else, is never as good as that.

Give it a shot, you'll probably like it. If not, hey, it's edible and it's one meal out of your life.

No matter what negativity is stated, the fact is:
It's always busy.

I've been there 4 times, most recently this past DEC.
I like it and no one is going to change my mind:rolleyes:

It's hip now to hate it. One lady always rants against it but she admitted she hadn't been in 7 years. Your best bet is to check out recent reviews on tripadvisor.

We ate there last April and were pleasantly suprised. Maybe because all of the reviews we expected it to be terrible but it was good. We wanted something in the park but didn't want to do CRT for 2 credits (which I really have never cared for...its ok). It also seemed fairly affordable; we used DDP but with 4 adults and 1 child I think it was barely over $100. My mother got the special which was swordfish and she loved it. I tried it. It was very good and cooked perfectly. I'd try it but just go in with an open mind and remember that it probably won't be a meal that you are talking about for years to come.

Agree. We love it there and eat there every time we go. I prefer lunch on the patio, dinner was loud and crowded. Tiramisu is amazing.

Tony's is the only restaurant in WDW (or anywhere, really) that I left saying that I would never go back to. To me, it was evident that what I ordered was the norm and that it would be exactly the same if I happened to go back.

Overcooked, watery pasta and a dessert that tasted like it had been made at least five days earlier is just not something that I want to spend my money on. If I HAD to go back, I would order something that is not quite on their menu (like chicken parmesan with alfredo sauce instead of marinara), so it would have to be made fresh and see if that would be better.

We went for lunch this past November and thought it was fine. Nothing spectacular but nothing terrible either. We wouldn't hesitate to go back but it's not on our "must do" list either.

We were there last Feb and it was our best meal the entire trip from our server to our dessert everything was spectacular. We were there at the end of the day after wishes so it was a late meal too. So its all a matter of opinion and taste.

I think Tony's is decent. We enjoyed our chicken parm there, and I loved my dessert. It didn't leave me clamoring to go back, but we will eventually eat there again. I have looked at the menu and the dessert I really enjoyed isn't at the restaurant any more, if it was still there we would be going there in June. It was a lemon walnut cake.

I'll probably give it another try in a year or so as I rotate through the restaurants that I didn't particularly care for the first time. There are so many great TS locations that it is hard to revisit the ones like Tony's where I was previously disappointed. I guess that I just felt that the the food and the atmosphere were both lacking.

We actually liked tonys...twice. Our servers both times were excellent, and we liked the busy atmosphere. I really liked the spumoni, and the spag/meatballs were great. It is on par with olive garden and it is by all means not a fancy romantic restaurant. Have a nice trip!
