Tony's Town Square

Last December, we ate there during the MVMCP. I enjoyed the food which is reasonablly priced. I dont think that I would use it while on the dining plan again though. I would pay out of pocket.

we love Tony's as well. We have been twice and had good food and great service both times.

We ate there in 2008 and the fod was no better than the food at the POP food court. It was our most disappointing meal for sure! Sounds like some others have had positive experiences recently so maybe they've improved?

One of the worst meals we have ever had in the World. :sad2:
Food was terrible (shrimp scampi drowning in oil, meatballs and red sauce were terrible..) and the service was just as bad. >>>I agree!!!
We were there a few weeks ago and had the BEST meal at Via Napoli..the food (pizza, pasta, red sauce, salads etc..) is a million times better than what is offered at Tony's.

Tony's was one of our worst meals in the 10 day trip. I asked my son once what was his worst meal at disney, and right away he said Tony's. I cant explain it, it was just gross. He had the spag/balls. I took a bite out of the meatball and had to spit it out. (into a napkin of course). It was disgusting. My chicken parm was gross as well. I honestly think they screwed up their tomato sauce somehow. If you go, dont order anything with tomato sauce in it. I know thats silly of me to suggestion since it is in fact an italian resturant....but it just wasnt very good at all. I went to this restaurant with extremely low expectations cause I read all the negative reviews. I thought ppl were just being picky. Boy I wish I had listened to those reviews. The service wasnt good either. But honestly, everyone is different. And if your curious about the place, I think you should give it a shot at least once. You dont have to go back if you dont like it. :upsidedow

I've been there twice, and we really enjoyed it both times. The second time I got one of their pizzetts and it was tasty.
Only thing that happened that was upsetting - it was one of our first meals on this vacation, and they added the tip in the bill without telling us. We never looked, and tipped as usual - the waitress never said a word. After this meal, we always made sure to look at the bill a little closer!

We like Tony's. The menu is pretty standard Italian but we like the ambiance and convenience the most. We have a reservation there for our August trip so we don't have to leave MK on their late night.

Last time we were there, they were very nice to DD, letting her choose a special topping for her pizza (kids meal) not on the menu.

Personally we prefer Via Napoli over Tonys but we like Tonys too...if I had to choose one it would be VN

We ate at both last month...we were both very happy at VN but DH wasnt so happy at Tonys...the calamari wasnt as good as it normally is and his meatballs were overly seasoned with fennel and he didnt like it. I had the shrimp scampi and it was amazing!

It wasn't so much the food at Via Napoli that turned off my mum and sister. More of less, they didn't like the idea of sitting at the one long table with others so close. They do like their space.

As others have mentioned there is only one long communal table (that I noticed). The rest of them are all individual tables. Just ask not to be seated at that one table - not a problem at all. :)
And if the seating is the only thing keeping you from switching to Via Napoli...make the switch..make the switch! You will have your own space AND excellent food.

i was sad to see they stopped serving breakfast....the day i proposed to my wife in WDW in 1999 we had breakfast there and it was great....

I figure it'll be a decent dinner. But of course we're going on the day that Magic Kingdom is open late so if it is bad we'll have time to get snacks and such.

This may seem dumb but can anyone tell me where Tony's is in the Magic Kingdom? I don't think I've ever seen it :goodvibes

It is on your right in front of the Train station where the original roundabout is, just as you enter.

Enjoy your meal, we enjoyed our meal there very much.

We ate their our last trip for our first meal (arrived late after driving all day). We got there just as the parade was starting so we got to see some of that while we waited for our seat. The food was great. So good that we are eating their for our first meal on our next trip. My nephews did not like the mickey head ravioli but then they are super picky eaters. Next time they will get something less adventurous.

Well, the establishment's full name is Tony's Town Square Restaurant. ;)

We ate lunch there in May of '10 and both my DD15, my MIL and I all thought it was just fine. Is it gourmet Italian? No, but it was perfectly good food, and nice to get a walk-up. Our waitress was lovely and doted on us, and we got to see one of the parades from our inside table.

We at there in early December and it was our least favorite meal of the trip. The food seemed bland, and the service was so-so. We have a food allergy and the chef was not the best when he finally came to our table.

We don't plan to eat there again, unless major changes are made.

This is actually the reason it took us so long to actually eat here...because we had always heard mixed reviews.

DH and I finally ate here for the first time in October. We went to MK for MNSSHP and realized we were hungry so we walked up to Tony's and they sat us right away. We were actually pleasantly surprised...our meals were both very good. Plus we got to sit outside and people watch. So we enjoyed our meals and watching everyone in their costumes.

Tony's is fine, just don't get the pizza there! Can I ask why your group will eat there and not at Via, since both restaurants are Italian and have similar menus?

She said that the others in the group did not find it appealing- maybe they already dined there and it has more to do with the ambiance than the menu items?
