Should we go to Tony's for dinner or skip it? I've heard such mixed reviews and definitely don't want to waste a TS on it if I won't have a good experience. What was your experience?:confused3

Hi,

Tony's will always elicit very strong responses on both sides of the ledger.

My advice is: if the menu appeals to you, why not give it a try? Who cares what anyone else thinks? Everyone's taste is different!

Enjoy your trip!

and that's exactly why we chose to keep our reservation for September....the menu looks good. So we figured it's worth a try. :goodvibes

Any restaurant can have a bad night (or nights)-like getting behind in the kitchen, having major food quality issues or providing lousy service. Many people have bad or lack luster experiences from counter service to signature restaurants. People are more likely to spread a bad experience over a great one.

ITA with the other posters on if you like what you see, give it a try. We have good experiences at Tony's

We've only had good dining experances when eating at Tony's Town Square
and this upcoming trip will be our 4th time eating there.
Have a fun trip!!

Im in the same situation. I see steak on the menu so I decided to stick with the ADR. Not much can go wrong when cooking a steak.

I agree if you see stuff on the menu you know you'd be happy eating then I'd try it. We ate here for the first time in Dec. 2008 and we were very happy with it. We had lunch there and couldn't have been happier with the food. I'm a BIG Italian food lover so for me I was happy. With that said the food was cooked well and the sauce wasn't generic which is very important to me. I hate going to an Italian place and getting such an out of the jar tasting sauce. Again i agree with the PP's if you see stuff on the menu you'd like to try it's worth giving a shot. Good luck and I hope you enjoy!:)

Not much can go wrong when cooking a good, high quality steak. Not true with a lesser quality piece of beef. We ate once at Tony's about 4-5 years ago, and had one of the best steaks I've ever had at a WDW restaurant (or anywhere for that matter).

Sadly, that experience has never been repeated, notwithstanding that we've been back for dinner several times since then. In our experience, the steaks these days are just average at best, as the steaks seem to be at all 1TS credit restaurants, with the possible exception of Le Cellier. I can't judge Le Cellier as we never eat there. Too crowded with tables too close together.

Go for it...we are 2 for 2 there with good experiences and food and we will be back there this Oct/Nov.

I wrestled with this myself. I've heard a lot of not so great experiences, myself, but we decided we will go anyway on our upcoming trip. It can't hurt to give it a try.

I went in for a solo walk-in lunch on the departure day of my last trip to see for myself why Tony's gets such mixed reviews and had a very enjoyable lunch. The food was very tasty and the service was excellent!! If it appeals to you give it a try!!:goodvibes

DH and I have had dinner at Tony's on 2 separate trips in the past year or so. Both meals were enjoyable -the food was well prepared and tasted good, service was fine. The only downside of Tony's is that it can be very noisy at times but then most Disney restaurants are! We will definitely dine there again at some point.

If Tony's menu appeals to you, then absolutely give it a try. My family ate there the last two years and thought the food was fine. If anyone is going to Disney for gourmet food, you should probably think again. As previously noted above......you will find good and bad reviews for all restaurants in Disney. Go and enjoy!

Well, since you asked for experiences, I'll give you mine. My DH and I ate here back in March 2008 for lunch and had a great experience. The flatbread I had was very very good and the tiramisu was to die for! So I booked dinner here the first night of our last trip (May 8, 2010 to be exact). The service was great this time just like before. We asked to be seated in the solarium and the atmosphere was really nice. They bring bread to the table with olive oil and spices, like a lot of Italian restaurants. The bread was excellent and warm. Both DH and I ordered the chicken parm since they don't have flatbreads on their dinner menu. I asked the server about the vegetable lasagna but he steered me toward the chicken parm instead. The chicken was wonderful. The meat was very moist and the breading was perfect. However, the noodles were cooked too long and the sauce was not what I like. It was very chunky and the taste was just okay. They also gave way too much pasta in relation to the amount of sauce. We also both ordered the tiramisu for dessert and it was a huge let down. There really were no ladyfingers in our servings, just mainly custard. Not what I remember from our first time at all.

We probably won't be back. It wasn't a terrible meal, just not nearly as good as most of our others the rest of the trip. Good luck deciding though. :)

We were just there last week and had a great experience! Great service, food was very good. Loved the eggplant and the tiramasu was awesome!!

We were pleasantly surprised..We were like you, hearing all the negatives, we were leary of trying, but we stuck with it and glad we did! The food..average Italian..kinda like Olive Garden..The ambiance..Awesome! We had seats overlooking Main street. I can't think of a better view than that, the Lady and Tramp themeing..great!..Well worth it IMO

I had reservations (ha) about making an ADR here too but we went for it because my SIL booked a meal there every trip and wanted us to join her.
Well, we had our best meal of the week! We ate at Mama Melrose a couple of days later and that was horrible. We kept saying, "Shoulda gone back to Tony's!" We won't hesitate to try it again.

Like most of Disney's table service restaurants, this one really lacks in consistency. You may have a great meal or you may not. But that's the case for pretty much anywhere you book, right?

We will be dining at Tony's next month when we are in WDW. This will be our 3rd time here. We have enjoyed the food and atmosphere at this restaurant. Also, DH says this is the best coffee in WDW (and he takes his coffee seriously:thumbsup2).

Tony's is all about the location. Being located in the MK makes it so convenient. We think the food is just average, not like a signature restaurant in on the the hotels, but a decent meal. If you are planning on having dinner in the MK it's a great choice, but if you are going to the MK just for Tony's you might be a bit disappointed.
