Just not enough table service choices at MK

The characters aren't really a draw for us (we have 2 other character meals selected), and I'm leaning toward Tony's but I don't see a lot of good feedback about Tony's. I know Crystal Palace is popular and the selection would be convenient considering we are a large group (with one vegetarian and one with allergies)... but.. we all like Italian, too.

What's your opinion?

We've enjoyed meals at both. If characters aren't a big draw, why not give Tony's a try? They'll have some good, simple vegetarian meals and the key lime pie dessert is delicious!!!!

We like both, however we like Crystal Palace more for breakfast. As for Tony's you will not hear a bad review from our family. Tony's has good, simple Italian food. Sure it is not like going to Tutto Italia or Via Napoli in Epcot, but it does get the job done. The Chicken Parm there is really good and so is the Baked Ziti. If you have never done Tony's, don't be afraid to try it out now. This May we are having breakfast at Crystal Palace one day and Tony's Town Square is going to be our very last meal before heading back to our resort to get ME. Enjoy!!!

I like Tony's a lot but I would give my vote to Crystal Palace. It has a variety of choices and it's my favorite character buffet, and my 2nd favorite overall buffet
(after Boma)

I liked both...but Crystal Palace is my 1st choice of the 2.

The food was good at Tony's, the service was off the hook great but Crystal Palace was a slight bit better food wise, service was a bit less (but still very good).

TS options at the MK is a real weakness, but the MK monorail resorts offer a great option; especially for dinner. Between the two you are debating we would easily select CP. I think the lack of TS options in the MK and ddp guest trying to find an ADR for TS in the MK, keeps Tony's alive, rather than replaced.

We've eaten at Tony's several times & have always enjoyed the food. At dinner the Shrimp Scampi w/ Sun-Dried Tomatoes & Asparagus is delicious. Just made an adr for Tony's for our August trip :)

Last Aug. we went back to Crystal Palace for dinner & said we would probably not return as it's a bit of a zoo-like atmosphere & we felt the food was nothing special.

Tony's is very underrated. We love it and that's where we'd go!

Crystal Palace is nice, but the buffet isn't quite as good. That being said, if you or your kids are big Pooh fans, the Crystal Palace is the place to go!

Crystal Palace food is nothing great IMO. Tony's is less than that.

The only sit down venue for our family at MK is Liberty Tree Tavern.

We eat at a resort restaurant on the monorail for a park break.

I prefer Tony's over CP.... But that is becuase I do not like buffets.

I will say, that last time we went to the CP, our table had a view of the castle and this made the meal 'magical.'

Tony's food is hit or miss... Calling it Olive Garden quality would be an insult to the OG. This is theme park Italian food. As long as you keep that in mind, you will enjoy the meal.

Not sure if you looked in the Liberty tree Tavern, but this is my families favorite TS in the MK. :rolleyes1

We've been to both and i don't think they can compare I say Tony's hands Down! We went to Tonys this past August it was the first time and we loved it! Definitely better than Mama Melrose also! I had the Shrimp Scampi it was very good, I can't remember what everyone had but everyone loved their meals!

If the charcters are not much of a draw for you I would suggest Tony's only because of the reprieve. It's quieter. I love the Crystal Palace because it's so bright and beautiful but the tables are a little tight and it's loud and I don't find it as relaxing. Have a wonderful time!
