Tony's Town Square Reviews?

We will be eating at Tony's on our July trip. I've never tried it and am getting a bit nervous now after reading about the food. How is the kids menu? DD3 is such a picky eater. Also is it easy to get a table outside? I've read that it's a great place to watch the parade.

Don't let everyone scare you off. My 4 year old ate some pizza and pasta just fine. And the outside can't be beat for parade viewing. We've never had to wait more than 20 minutes or so, sometimes not at all - but maybe we've been really lucky. I'd try to get there at least a half hour or so before the parade starts. I love to eat, don't get me wrong, but to me (especially at MK) atmosphere is really just as important. I can get great italian food in my town...but not a cute lady & the tramp restaurant with a view of main street and possibly the parade.

I made adr for Tony's for our lunch for 1:00. What time does the parade come by? Is it the 3:00 parade? That would be lovely if we could schedule that right. If so, I need to make for 1:45 right?

We eat at Disney A LOT...Tony's has become one of our favorite places. The price is reasonable (esp for lunch) and we love the atmosphere. We are NOT picky eaters and don't like exotic food. We really really like it. Give it a try.

I agree. Give it a try. Then you'll know if you like it or not. We've never had a bad meal at Tony's.

We went in January for dinner. It was not bad, it was not great. It was OK. There are not a lot of options in MK, and by dinner, my then 3 year old son was pretty tired, so we did not enjoy it as much. Next time, we are doing all character ts meals for the sake of our son.... and our sanity.

We went last Sept for lunch. It wasn't really busy when we went. The restaurant itself was really cute and the CMs were nice. I had remembered being there 8 years ago with my mom and brother and liking it. Last year our food was just gross! Pasta was overcooked and mushy (pet peeve of mine) and the food had very little flavour. I can't even remember what I had, but it was our least favourite meal the whole trip.

Now, we also ate at Sci-fi last trip and both enjoyed it very much! If I would have listened to all the reviews we wouldn't have gone, and it ended up being one of DBF's favourite places. So I say if it's something you want to experience, forget the reviews and go check it out! If you don't like it, wel then you know to keep it off your list next time! We might try Tony's again in a couple of years.. I didn't even know they had Mickey Ravioli!

I think we'll stick with it. One mediocre meal won't ruin our fun! We'll never know until we try; it could end up being our favorite. And the atmosphere sounds wonderful!

Thanks everyone - at least I have expectations that it isn't going to be our favorite dinner on the trip - but still fun. Unfortuneately I made our ADR for 5:30 because we are planning on being at AK eariler that day - so no parade viewing:(

We have enjoyed both dinners we have had here. Portions are big so my husband and I each ordered a salad and share the spaghetti & meatball entree (they even split it in the kitchen for us before they brought it out!) Our 9yo son loves fettuccini alfredo but it wasn't on the kids menu but our server brought him a child's portion. They give you bread and oil to dip it in. The only con is the way they call you when your table is ready....no beeper, they just shout your family's name so you better be nearby!
:cutie:

I almost forgot the best part about eating at Tony's.....if you time your dinner right, when your done eating you can walk outside (or sit outside on the veranda) to watch the Spectro Magic parade!
:cutie:

Go and try it, every one will have a different view, see for yourself. Have a great dinner.

It's one of our favorite places to eat. We have never had a bad meal or service there. We will be eating there again this trip in October. I guess we'll keep going back until we have a bad experience. I say try it...it may surprise you.

But to everyone who had a bad experience (food or service), did you bring it up to the CM's and if so...what was the out come. I am asking because we had a bad experience at Ohana's and they tried to make it better for us. Just wondering what was done!!

We just returned Sunday the 22nd from our WDW trip. We also ate at Tony's on the 19th for our sons birthday and the food was terrible. This was my forth time there (Tony's)and it was by far the worst dining experience we have had. Our reservations were for 8:30pm so the folks were lining up for the Spectromagic parade and the restaurant was not very busy. The dipping sauce that is used is a cross between a Mexican chili and motor oil. This is not a difficult dish to prepare,(herbs&EVOO). And the bread is, nor has ever been Italian, but it is always COLD! Tony's tries to give you the 4 star lead-up to get to the table, but certainly falls short when your fanny hits the chair. They would be better served having gourmet pizza on the menu, do it correctly and consistently then all the illusions of a moderately great Italian meal would be no more.

:confused3
