I was just reading the DISboards dining review of TTS and it's awful! Is the food really that bad?? We've never eat there and needed a TS in MK, so I made ADR, now I'm wondering if I should change my plans??:confused3

To me, it was hit or miss. Personally, I do not recommend eating there and getting food with red sauces. I do that as a rule, because I like Ragu that I make at home. My DW said that she didn't like her dish.

My dish was good, though. I had some sort of chicken dish (it was 2 years ago, so I cannot remember the name) but it was good. Plus, the desserts were good.

My favorite part of the meal was the server. I again cannot remember his name, but he was an African-American male who was Muslim. I knew that because he looked out for my wife who doesn't eat sausage.

Well, this guy was totally on top of his tables. It was my first TS meal ever at a Disney restaurant and I fell in love with how good the Coca-Colas were. Disney has THE BEST Coca-Colas anywhere! We've been to the Coca-Cola Experience and STILL couldn't get better colas than at Disney.

Well, needless to say, I was drinking these cokes like I was addicted. I think I was downing those things every 10 minutes or less. Well, this server was extremely personable, and my empty glass would simultaneously hit the table as the full glass. It was the best service I've ever had in a restaurant! Ever!

But the food was just OK, and we plan on not coming back soon.

My wife and I really enjoy eating at Tony's. We have a reservation there in a few weeks for our May Trip.

If you can, get a seat outside on the porch. The view is great!

This will be our first time there as well (our ADR is made) but I will watch the replies received with great scrutiny, as I am now wondering if we should change to something else. :confused3

For anyone that likes it, what do you recommend (food and dessert wise)?

Thank you! :flower3:

We really did not like our meal there. It wasn't the worst but it wasn't like oh we NEED to go back. We ate there and sat on the patio to watch the electric light parade, which was perfect. The food was just mediocre, it came out slow, and then wasn't that warm. Also our server wasn't that great, and we had to wait 40 min. for our ADR which was kind of lame

We found the food there as okay. It wasn't great, but wasn't awful either. We would eat there again, but definitely not one of our must do's.

I do want to mention that the Tiramisu is great there. I always order it.

We loved Tony's :)

DBF got the minestrone and I got the Tomato and Mozzarella app (which I'm not sure is on the menu any longer - shame as it was delicious, but now there are mussels!) - we both got steaks for mains which were cooked exactly as we wanted, and I got the Amaretto cheesecake whilst Els got the Tiramisu. Our server was friendly and we also got some bread with a dipping sauce which was lovely.

We're returning this trip.

I put off eating here for years (due to the reviews) and finally tried it last year. We were very pleasantly surprised and will definitely be eating here again. I would say it's worth a try at least to know.

We enjoy it-the steak is good. We go most every year but are skipping it this year just to try someplace new. I guess everyone likes something different!

It's not the best meal I've ever had in my life, but it's certainly not anywhere near the worst. It's similar to an Olive Garden or other chain-type Italian restaurant.
The only thing that I did not like on our last trip was the pistacchio creme brulee I ordered for dessert. So I made my husband trade (he eats anything) and we were fine.
From what I recall, he had the steak, I had some kind of chicken, and my son had penne pasta (he gags on spaghetti) with the tomato sauce and meatball on the side. We have reservations there again for the night we're going to the Pirate & Princess party in May.

We ate there in 05 and it was definitely not a favorite. I personally thought the food was lousy. We will not be going back at all, view or not. Sorry I don't have a better review for you.
One side note: we orignally had ressies for Sci Fi but decided that morning not to leave MK that day (we had tickets for MVMCP). WE called the reservation line to see what was open and Tony's was almost literally the ONLY place open. In retrospect, that probably should have been a red flag.

We had the BEST TS meal here (we ate there on last trip Sept.2007).
If I were you I would try it at least one time to make up
your mind.We will be eating there this upcoming trip.
We ordered the Grilled Salmon, NY Strip Steak and Bianca Flat
bread pizza and everything was very good!!
We also have very good service, everyone there was very nice.

What I can't understand is the people who dislike Tony's
love the really gross places like Chef Mickeys (dinner) and Garden Grill--
now that is really bad!!!

We have never eaten there before but are trying it in August. Love Italian food (but I am for sure not expecting the real deal) and it cannot be any worse than Mama Melrose, their food was just so bland and served lukewarm.

I agree, CM for dinner was terrible and the smell from Garden Grill makes me gag

We were there in May of 07...our food was good...DH and DD had the strip steak and I had the cannelloni...we all liked our food and my cannelloni was especially good...I also really enjoyed the amaretto cheesecake! The service on the other hand, was not so good...however, we did not let it ruin our experience and have decided to go back again in Sept.!:woohoo:

Oh great! Two other restaurants we're trying out this visit!!:headache:

We love CM for breakfast and thought dinner would be good. I've heard many people compare it to the Crystal Palace's dinner (which we love).

I've also heard only positive things about Garden Grill. We sat on the bus next to a family that wouldn't stop raving about the dinner they just had there.

Ugh! Now I'm nervous with all three! Thanks!:scared1:

We love Tony's. Always have had great meals and great service there. We do it every trip.

I don't think you should change your ADR based on what others think. Every place is worth a try at least once so you can develop your own opinion.
That being said, we love Tony's and do it every trip. The food has always been good and we've never had bad service.
