HI! Not sure if this question has been asked before...I looked around, but couldn't find it! Anyways, trip is in 2 weeks! We have a reservation for lunch at Tony's Town Square, but now I'm thinking of changing it to Liberty Tavern. Which is best? We've been to Disney a few times, but never done a sit-down meal in the Magic Kingdom. Thanks for any advice!

Tony's was fine (we went for dinner) but nothing overly special.

We've not been to Liberty Tavern for a while now since the kids won't eat their menu...and our visit to Crystal Palace (dinner) was hands down the worst restaurant experience we've had on property (7 trips over 11 years).

That all said, we prefer to stick to counter service at MK and for any table service we hop out to one of the area resorts. I would try 1900 Park Fare or Chef Mickey's for breakfast/dinner...or Whispering Canyon for any of the meals.

I've heard the the Plaza is really good, but it isn't the best use of a dining credit so we haven't visited in recent trips..

Hi....We have eaten several times at both (we have the Deluxe Dining Plan each time).

I must say they are both great places to eat, however if you have children (which we do) mine enjoyed Tony's more. They both have the tired old children's menu, however Tony's is the ONLY place I know of that has Mickey Ravioli. And a few other DIFFERENT items for the kids, like a calzone(hooooray NOT PIZZA) and Spaghetti and Meatballs.

Also, I dont know if you are planning lunch or dinner, but the Liberty Tree Tavern seems to be a bit more heavier food for lunch, which can slow you down in the park between the walking and the heat. However, you cant beat the atmosphere of the Tavern, the costumes and the mugs.

Maybe checking out the menus online might help you decide.:surfweb:

We TRULY do enjoy them both.

My DH and I had dinner at Tonys out on the patio and saw some the parade. We had steak. We also ate another time at Liberty Tavern and serve family style. I suggest that you be really hungry going in here, because will be stuffed when you come out. Very good good comfort foods:)

We prefer lunch at LTT and dinner at Tonys

Ok..seems like either would be a good choice! We have 3 girls, ages 13, 11, and 5...I agree the kid's meals get so tired...love having other options!

I would choose LTT, not because I didn't like Tony's, I did. But I thought LTT was just a bit better.

I don't think you will be sorry with either you choose. Just depends if you want comfort foods (LTT) or if you want Italian.

Have a great trip!!

Tony's had by far the worst meal in my entire 10 day trip last year. I think it was their tomato sauce....my chicken parm was blah. Not good at all. My son's spag & balls were beyond gross. I tried the meatball and had to spit it out in a napkin. It was disgusting!! I went in there with an open mind after hearing bad reviews. Man i wish i had either a) ordered the steak or b) listened to the reviews and dined elsewhere!!

Now on to Liberty Tree....twice we've been for dinner (all you can eat family style thanksgiving feast) OOOOHHHH MYYYYYYY GOODNESSSSS, SOOO YUMMY!!!!! I cry while eating, thats how yummy it is! (ok maybe i'm exaggerating a bit, hahaha). There's beef, turkey, ham, stuffing, gravy, mashed pot, mac n' cheese, green beans, salad, etc etc!!!! Its best to go into this place absolutely starving. LOL! :lmao:

I cant say enough good things about Liberty Tree! :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if there is table seating at the Sci-Fi Theater? I can't remember if there are actually any dining tables. We sat in car at our last visit. My husband wants to sit at a table this time if they have them.:surfweb:

I love LTT Its is my fav place in MK. I love the strawberry dressing for the salad & the honey butter for the bread. I think about it 7 we have til Nov. It's that good. The rest of the meal is exactly like Thanksgiving & very good. I have not eaten @ TTS in years & we didn't love it back then that's why my fam goes to LTT & CP. I skip it when my fam goes to CP b/c I'm one of the few who is not a fan. Go w/ what menu looks good to you. I might be willing to try TTS again being that they have mickey rav. as I just read.

I haven't tried tony's yet so I can't compare the two. However I have had lunch and dinner at LTT and really liked both. I would not hesitate to eat there again.:cutie:

The atmosphere at Tony's is more cliche Magic Kingdom, but Liberty Tree is definitely a cool experience as well. The lunch and dinner menus are different at Liberty Tree, so that should be taken into account. Dinner is more family style with a fixed menu, and lunch you order what you please. I personally like Tony's a tad bit better because of atmosphere (I ordered the Eggplant Parm), but Liberty Tree is a Must Do for us too. We are going to both this trip lol. :thumbsup2

I have eaten at both and really didn't like either of them. Love Columbia Harbor House and Crystal Palace though!

Tony's was not our favorite, I don't think we would try it again.....although we just watched Lady and the Tramp so it might inspire us. We did enjoy the Crystal Palace....food was good and enjoyed the characters. We have eaten at Liberty for lunch, it was good food and a nice change of pace almost felt like we were not at Disney. I agree that MK seems to lack a really yummy restaurant choice often we will leave and go to neighboring hotel for dinner....Ohana!!! YUMMY!

We always have dinner at LTT on our first night! We LOVE it, it's very yummy!! We've never eaten at Tony's but are going to on our upcoming trip this Fall. :thumbsup2

This past trip we ate at LTT both days at lunch-love it:love:

One lunch i had salad with crab cakes-there is a Signature salad with chicken and apples-so there are light meals there at lunch

We just love the quiet atmosphere:love:

We really did not enjoy LTT. It's not that it was bad, it just wasn't that good!

Tony's fit us much better. It isn't high class italian, more along the lines of a good Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill but with a super cool atmosphere. I LOVED their spaghetti and meatballs!

If your kids enjoy italian or are just fans of Lady and the Tramp, I would go there.

Hope that helps some!

we've only had dinner at both of those places. I liked Tony's, but my fiancee would disagree (she got food poisoning). Liberty Tree is very good, everyone walked away happy and full, I'm especially fond of the Roast Beef.

Also, Like others have mentioned, try for the Plaza, it's very good and have never been unsatisfied with the meals there.

Go with what sounds good though, you really can't go wrong.
