im hoping for a mnshp on septemer 3rd and if so i want to have a late lunch at eather tonys or chrystal palace what is better

We love CP and it is where I always try to get a booking when we are going to one of the events at the MK :thumbsup2. We love the food there! As far as going a second time instead of trying something new? For us, if it's Tony's where I've never been I would still choose CP because I have only heard bad things about Tony's.

The great thing with both places is the convenience of being in Magic Kingdom and having continuous hours of operation from lunch to dinner. Most restaurants on the MK monorail resorts don't start serving dinner until 5 or 5:30.

We enjoyed dining at Crystal Palace twice in one trip - especially for lunch. I think the buffet has a large variety of delicious foods - especially the cold salads and hot freshly carved meats but also the something for everyone foods - pizza, pasta, nuggets, etc... With the Pooh characters, kids are not fidgety because of boredom.

Dined at Tony's for lunch in 2008. I thought the food was good but nothing special. We did get a dessert with Lady and the Tramp drawn (or stamped) in chocolate.

Have fun at the MNSSHP! If you have never been before, it is absolutely fun. I wish I went twice instead of just once on our trip.... so much to do. And don't wait until the last minute to line up for the parade - because the headless horseman rides through about 15-20 minutes before the parade starts.

I love Crystal Palace but I wouldn't eat there twice in one trip. I enjoyed Tony's when I ate there in October. The Plaza is also really good and Liberty tree Tavern has a great lunch menu.

ty for the tips all
im also going to liberty tree during my trip going from august 24th until september 4th

will have check it out some more it is still a few days before i have to book

We LOVE Crystal Palace and usually do it every year. We love how it's set up and it never seems to crowded inside to us (though we usually go to breakfast). That's the one I would pick. Have a great Trip!

i forgot to mention im doing breakfastonthe first day there if i can get a reservation

Hi kerstfan1,
If you are already eating at CP I would suggest Tony's. I know that Tony's does not always get the best reviews, though I have eaten there many times and always enjoy it. Have a great time whatever you choose! :thumbsup2

I'm hoping for MNSSHP on Sept 3 as well!! Happy to hear someone else is thinking the same....

I've been to CP for breakfast and enjoyed it. I've been to Tonys often (for convenience) and was there last year. Tonys is fine - as others have said nothing special. The menu is OK - maybe a bit limited for Italian, but it does have some of the classic Italian dishes. The fried Calamari is good.

I think is depends more on your family preferences. Do you want sit down or buffet? Do you have some picky eaters? (the buffet will offer more choices especially for younger kids). Also if it's a late lunch / early dinner you may be able to "fill up" more at CP buffet to last you for the rest of the night only needing a snack or 2.

The big question (an maybe someone can help) can you stay in MK for MNSSHP or do you have to leave and re-enter at 7pm when it starts?

We're planning on an early dinner at Whispering Canyon that night. We're staying at BWV and my son likes WC. I figure it would be a good day to go as we can take bus to MK then boat to WL, have dinner and then boat back to MK for MNSSHP. Last time we did WC after a day a MK we were not in the mood to boat it then bus it back to hotel and ended up taking a cab which is an unnecessary expense.

I'm just curious at to what time to make my WC reservation. I was thinking 5pm which should give us time to eat and get to MK by 7pm for MNSSHP. But if we can get in the park earlier, maybe we should eat earlier.....what do you think?

We tried them both last year and we really enjoyed tonys but felt the food at CP was lacking in flavor-just wasn't that impressive or worth the hassle or the wait in costumes in the sun

Good call bitohoney...Liberty Tree is very good - even without characters. In fact we chose Liberty Tree over Tonys when planning our upcoming trip.
