Ok.. i have one more meal to schedule in... at the MK.. wanted to do LTT but only booking is at 8:45.. too late for us.. so its either Plaza or Tonys.. I looked at both menus and both look good... being on the meal plan it makes more sense to go to Tonys but I want to hear about both.. good and bad. thanks in advance:hug:

I have eaten at both places. Of the two I prefer the Plaza. I didn't hate Tony's but I didn't love it either. Since you are on the dining plan the better value would be Tony's. I had read lots of negatives about Tony's before eating there and was a bit nervous, if I had paid OOP I may have been a bit disappointed but since I was on the dining plan I didn't mind. The food was average not outstanding, we had eaten there the night of MNSSHP and the service was excellent. The afternoon we ate at the Plaza it was the one meal I didn't use dining plan credits for, I loved the extra attention we received from our waitress since the restaurant is very small. When I made reservations for my trip next week I did include the Plaza again and not Tonys.

We ate at Tony's last Dec before going to mvmcp and we thought the food was just ok, the good thing was that we in the park and it was nice to be done eating and be ready for the party. Other years we have eaten at Kona's and we loved the food there and if you can get a 5:00 ressie there you still have plenty of time for the party.

I love the Plaza! I ate at Tony's on NYE (it was the ONLY place I could get a ressie for!). I didn't like Tony's, and don't think I will ever eat there again. I paid OOP for both, and the only one that let me down was Tony's. I know its more expensive so its more bang for your buck, but Plaza is so yummy and they have delicious ice cream sundaes too!

Good luck making the difficult decision!

I had the same decision for our upcoming August trip after we couldn't get an early time at LTT. Because we are on the dining plan I decided to go with Tony's and get more for our money. The Plaza sounds good but I'm sure we'll be using many of our CS credits for sandwiches, etc. I have read many negative reviews but also some great ones about Tony's so I'm going in with an open mind. At the very least, we will be trying a new WDW restaurant.

A lot of people do not like Tony's but we did. We have only been once and it was with a party of 8 on Father's day. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we had awesome service. Plaza is good too but really just burgers, shakes and sandwiches.

we've eaten at Tony's 2x and we liked it. i was nevous about the reviews and wasn't expecting much the 1st time we ate there. But we were surprised that the food was pretty good and we liked having a sit down meal at the MK

Sorry went to Plaza last trip and didn't like it at all - disappointed with the food and to say that the server was unattentive is understating the matter. We're trying Tony's this time as I have seen a few good reviews - I am of the opinion that every WDW restaurant deserves a try - if we don't like it we won't go again.

We just got back last month and made an ADR for The Plaza and both my wife and I agreed that it was like a "sit down counter service". Basically burgers and sandwiches. Wasn't bad but won't go back again. Kids selections were limited and a VERY small enviroment.

We also ate at Tony's last December and thought it wasn't too bad. would go back there before Plaza. The 1 thing I did do was make the rez a 1/2 an hour before the parade started and had a great set for it inside, but you could try to get a table outside too. Something to consider!!!:thumbsup2

We have eaten at both Plaza and Tony's and enjoyed them both. As a PP stated, the Plaza has burgers, sandwiches, and of course ice cream (sundaes, shakes, etc.); at Tony's you could have a full meal. We ate at Plaza for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and decor. We ate at Tony's for dinner and also enjoyed it. We know that some people don't like one or the other of these restaurants, but we had good food and plenty of it at both and that's what we want in a restaurant. SO..... we give both restaurants two thumbs up!!!!! :rotfl2:

I have never done the DDP and it is highly unlikely that I ever will, but I can't really understand choosing a place to dine based on the value??:confused3 It's "free"........ I digress. Anyway,

We have eaten at both Tony's and The Plaza countless times and they are both good. The Plaza is much more consistent than Tony's though. We have had some meals that were very good at Tony's and some were just OK. The Plaza is simple and yummy always! Good luck with your decision!! :)

It's not free for those of us not lucky enough to go during free dining. It is quite a bit of money actually, that's why I made the comment about getting more for our money. ;)

I ate at Tony's once and really enjoyed it though the service was not great. That was over 2 years ago. We ate at Tony's a couple of months ago, and the food was not as good. It was just ok actually and the serivice was very bad. I have not eaten at the Plaza so I can't really comment on it. Although we probably will eat there on our next trip to WDW as it is the only place in the MK that we haven't eaten.

I've never tried the Plaza. As for Tony's, wasn't crazy about it at all! my advice, If you are Whole/half/part italian and used to good homemade Italian food, Tony's will dissappoint.

i'd go for Plaza.Tried both while on the plan 2yrs ago and Tony's was just nothing to write home about. :confused3 . The sweet potato chips at the plaza were very good..... don't know if they still have them.;)

We have eaten at both. We've always had a good meal at Tony's, but we prefer Plaza. Yes, it may not be as much "bang for your buck" with the dining plan, but after all the "heavy" meals we have at other restaurants (LeCellier, Biergarten, Boma, Crystal Palace, etc.), we enjoy a simpler meal of a burger, reuben, grilled chicken or whatever with a nice, cold chocolate shake and a great hot fudge sundae! The Plaza has become a MUST DO for us every trip.

Nope.. 1/2 Swedish 1/2 French Canadian... Can anyone tell me if Tonys compares to Mama Melrose..???
