We'll be on DXDDP in Sept, thanks to the bounceback. We usually try to get an early flight to WDW, and MK is usually our first park. So... even though I'm not too thrilled about either of these places, I think it would be wise to eat in MK (since it will close early due to Night of Joy or MNSSHP that night). We are doing CRT, CP, and CM later in the trip. Would you recommend Tony's or Liberty Tree, or is there another stellar option? We're not into the Plaza. TIA!

I ate at both and did not like Tony's at all. LTT was more impressive than I expected. I would choose LTT.

We usually do Liberty Tree Tavern every trip as our 1st day meal. We book the character dinner- a nice way to start our trip.

Though I have never tried Tony's I would definatley go to Liberty Tree Tavern for the character dinner. When we went it was a turkey dinner served family style. The menu might have changed since then since it has been awhile. It is one of our favorite disney memories. My DS was 13 at the time, he is now 21. The characters at that meal were Minnie, Goofy, Chip & Dale. The character interaction was great. We laughed so hard our sides ached. DS was wearing a goofy hat at the time. He was just about to take a bite of his food when goofy came up from behind, put his finger to his mouth to shhh us all, and took off with the hat. A chase ensued. Then the hat was passed back and forth between goofy, chip and dale and the pursuit was on. After DS finally got his hat back minnie gave the others a good scolding. We laughed till we had tears in our eyes. The food was decent and we had a marvelous time. We are going back in April and have plans to eat there again.

it was a last minute decision to go there, someone had just canceled their ressis

We really liked LTT also. The food was good, one of the best meals we had, and the characters were all really good.

I ate at both last November and really wasn't impressed with either. The LTT's food was dry and overcooked..but the atmosphere is fun..characters and the staff was very nice. Tony's was just bad..I am from NY and my mother in law is the best Italian cook...so it is hard for us to eat Italian food out unless it is fine dining..and this was FAR from that. I would do LTT if I had to do one or the other again..;)

For lunch I like the LT (no characters at lunch however). For dinner we like Tony's better (My DH & DD are huge pasta lovers)

I ate dinner at Tony's and lunch at LTT this past week. I liked LTT better. I had the pot roast which was outstanding. At Tony's I had shrimp pasta and liked it very much. My wife had chicken parmesian at Tony's and it was mediocre.

LTT for lunch. Awesome. A la carte for lunch, not the Thanksgiving buffet and characters like at dinner.

Great desserts, too!

We love LTT for lunch, eat there everytime.
Since you are on vacation try the fried cheese appitizer they have there, it is the best I have ever had.
There deserts are great also.

LTT for lunch is on our very short 'must do' list on any trip to WDW. I don't care for their dinner menu though. Someone in our family has had almost everything on their lunch menu and enjoyed it.

My favorites there are the crab cake appetizer and the chocolate cake. DD's love the apple crisp dessert.

I came on this thread to say Tony's hands down since we didn't like LTT for dinner. After reading all the great reviews for lunch (and how it differs from dinner) I checked out the menu. Now we have decided to switch our first day lunch from the hotel to LTT! (But we are still eating at Tony's for lunch later in the week- we love it there too!!)

Liberty Tree Tavern. It has the best dessert ever! As my server said, "I have 2 words for you-'Ooey Gooey'"-

That together with the entree salad (I can't remember what it was called but it had walnuts, cheese, and bits of apple) make for one delicious meal.
