Tony Perkins leaving GMA??? I'm so sad!

I put on the end of Good Morning America this morning and they were saying farewell to Tony Perkins, their wonderful weatherman. Does anyone know why he is leaving? I enjoyed him very much. I haven't been able to watch GMA too much in the last couple of weeks. Does anyone know why he is leaving? Does he have another job?

They annouced several weeks ago that he was leaving and going back to DC (maybe) to be closer to his family in VA.

I'm not a GMA person, but loved Tony on Fox WTTG out of Washington. They sent him out to all these cool local places and it was a great way to find out the weather AND get tips on things to do for a recent transplant.

He was commuting back and forth from DC to New York and wanted to be there fulltime with his family as he has a young son. He is going back to work for the station he used to work for in DC.
