Tonights the Meteor shower!

I look forward to the Persieds Meteorite shower every year. One year we went to Island Beach State park and saw over 150 shooting stars. The kids loved it. Hopefully we can find somewhere dark in South jersey to view them this year.

I wish I planned our trip to the shore for this week instead of in two. I guess we'll have to settle for our backyard but thanks for the idea for next year.

There used to be a road we took to LBI that went through part of Ft. Dix or McGuire. It was pretty dark back there. Maybe Rt. 539?? If not, what's that road off 72 that goes into Chatsworth? Maybe Route 563? You could pull off into one of the parking lots for the cranberry bogs. I'll bet there won't be anyone around, it's bound to be pretty dark out there, and with the opening in the forests, you should be able to get a pretty good show...that is unless we get those storms the weather guy was talking about....

Agreed -- oh well, I'm being optimistic that maybe the clouds will break just enough so I can see some of the Perseids

Thanks so much! its a beautiful sunny hot day today here at the shore, so i hope it stays that way. We cant go to island beach anymore, only fishermen are allowed with their 4 wheel drive trucks. My friend suggested somewhere in Manahawkin too. Thanks again.

I love to watch the meteors. When I was a kid the whole neighborhood would be up watching them. My DH and kids are not interested so if I want to see them I have to watch by myself...it's just to spooky sitting out in the middle of the night by myself. So for the last many years I have not seen them. I just would love to have someone to watch them with.

But not tonight....it's very cloudy where I am and it's not a good night.....thank goodness I don't have to be dissapointed at not being out there watching.
