Toni-first of all...I'm sorry. But, I agree with dopeysgirl84. They can't get away with this. They should have ordered it immediately. I would AT LEAST talk to the BBB.

I hope you get an even BETTER dress!
 
Toni, Sending good vibes your way that you find a dress. They had no right to do that, and I would send a complaint to the BBB, Davids Bridal Corporate - anyone! :furious: <--- on your behalf

Oh no, Toni! You're handling this a lot better than I would have. I probably would have had laser beams shooting everywhere (then I would have cried like a little girl).

Oh Toni I am so sorry that they did this to you! It is inexcusable. They should have ordered the dress as soon as they recieved your payment, or looked ahead and seen when the last possible date to order the dress was and done so before them.

I am sure everything will work out for you in the end. Maybe you weren't supposed to have that dress; you were supposed to have a better and even more fabulous one! No matter what, you will look beautiful on your wedding day!
 
omg Toni, I can't believe that!!! I really can't understand how that can even happen!!! WOW, that is just crazy. I know you will be able to find a dress in time, but I'm sorry that it is going to be so stressful for you!

I LOVE maggie sottero dresses! I was looking into getting "Elizabeth" but ended up going with another designer, but I always go back and look at the dress I almost got! Her dresses are awesome! Good luck with the dress hunting!! :goodvibes

They've had your money for quite some time now and should have placed the order with the manufacturer as soon as you paid! Here's wishing you good luck on your search. :wizard:

I'm so sorry!!!! That just means that the DB dress wasn't "the one." I know you will find something even better!
 
OMG! Toni I'm so sorry to hear this!! Have you tried to contact the manager directly and have them or you call around to other david's bridals or something .. checked ebay or craigs list as well sometimes there are new dresses on there so maybe there will be one that style!! Good luck with everything !
 
:eek: Toni omg!! That is ridiculous!! How can they do that? Like others have said- you should report them!!! That is ridiculous for them to take your money and then now, less than four months before your wedding, tell you they don't have it. :mad: I bet you will find an even better dress!! Keep us posted!

I did report them to the BBB. Not sure if anything will happen but at least they gave me my money back. So today I went to a small bridal shop in the next town over because I was looking at Maggie Sottero dresses online and they happened to carry them. Well I tried on some Maggie dresses but they didn't have the ones I was looking at but they found some something similar to what I wanted in another designer. So I got a new gown that I am sooooo excited about. I have to say that I adore this dress so much more than the other one. I am actually kind of happy this happened because I am totally in love with this dress!!!! :lovestruc I had to get it rush ordered and it will be in on December 29th the day before my birthday! :yay:

This dress is fantastic and the girls at the shop were so helpful. The designer of the dress is Allure Bridals and they have lots of other beautiful dresses.

Hopefully this will be my only crisis but its not a real wedding without some kind of disaster. :thumbsup2 :rotfl:
 
My dress was Allure bridal too! There dresses are so beautiful! I'm so glad it all worked out for you!
 
I was off the board last night and didn't read about the crisis until now that it is resolved :goodvibes I'm so glad that it all worked out in the end. You ended up with a beautiful dress- I love the beading and the pick-ups on the train. After visiting 15 bridal shops looking for my dress (including David's) I ended up a small bridal shop too and the customer service there was by far better than at the larger chains. Congrats on finding another beautiful dress :bride:
 
Whew! I'm so glad it worked out in the end. This is a great example of "everything happens for a reason!"

Yes, there is pretty much always a silver lining and yours wasn't hard to see with a gorgeous dress on its way to you! :lovestruc I wish we could have seen you in this - where are the pics of you? :goodvibes
