Is the tonga Toast served at KonaCafe and Captain Cook's the same?

Only difference is Kona has a strawberry sauce on the side.. I dont even need it tho.. Unless you want a sit down breakfast Id go to Capt Cooks, its cheaper as well.

Also room service has the tonga toast on their menu..

Actually i know someone who went there and found the tonga toast to be different at both places. They said its better at kona. The bread at Capt Cooks is different (darker). I have only tried at Kona and can definitely say without a doubt that its the YUMMIEST breakfast dish i've ever had in my life!!:cloud9: :worship:

I actually don't even like Tonga Toast, but I definitely agree with this post. The dishes are slightly different at both restaurants, and it's better at Kona Cafe. It just seems fresher and hotter and of higher quality than its counter service counterpart.

I agree with this. I do think Tonga Toast is good and do prefer it at Kona, but I'm happy with the one Capt. Cook's has. In all honesty, I can't eat a whole one nor can I eat half of one. If my husband orders it, I snag a few bites from him. :) Really good, but really sweet!!

I agree with this also. It's still good at Capt. Cooks but it's definitely better at Kona. It's also a lot less expensive at CC's, though! It is VERY good stuff!:thumbsup2

I hope you are right...I am so crazy that I made an out of my way ADR at Kona for breakfast to try the Tonga Toast. :rolleyes1

I can NOT wait to try the tonga toast. I bet my kids like it too- anything fried and covered in sugar is up their alley!:rotfl2: Maybe I will plan on splitting a piece with DH along with some fruit.:thumbsup2

is it not offered at Ohana? I've never eaten at either place and have to decide if I want lunch or breakfast at Kona. Help with the decision!!

I did the same thing, it just sounds so yummy I feel like I have to try it so I made a ressie just to try it. However, now I cant decide on Tonga toast or Macadamia Nut pancakes:confused3

'Ohana does not serve Tonga Toast. Only Kona Cafe and Capt. Cook's.

I also made an ADR at Kona Cafe because the Tonga Toast sounds so good.

We love them both. I order (and tend to eat more of) the Tonga Toast and snag some of my hubbies Mac Nut Pancakes. Mmmmmm. We topped it with banana slices. It is making me hungry just thinking about it.

Now I can't wait till our May 30-June 3 trip, we usually go 2 times a week to Captain Cooks for the Tonga toast, this is a shorter trip so have to get over there at least once. We will get there 2 times in October. Never had the Kona Tonga so can't compare.

Is there a size difference in tonga between Kona and Capt.'s
