Tonga Toast?

I swear I read there was somewhere other than Kona to get Tonga Toast; did I imagine this?? I can't fit Kona in to our ADRs, but I'm dying to try Tonga Toast!

What I recommend doing is purchasing Tonga Toast at Captain Cook's and getting coffee from Kona Isle upstairs near Kona Cafe. This works especially well if you have more than one person in your party.

Capt Cooks has it but they do not serve it with the strawberry sauce, just Kona does that...but it is exactly the same Tonga Toast

Last time I stayed at Poly I had an ADR for Kona specifically for the Tonga Toast. Tried it at Capt Cook's the first morning - it's exactly the same; I subsequently had it the next 5 mornings, at Capt Cook's while everyone else was asleep (no breakfast eaters other than me!). Sooooo good. I usually stay at AKL - so now I am worried that I'm going to have to build in time each morning to go to Poly for breakfast.

DH wold not agree the same TT is served in Kona and CC. He likes it MUCH better at Kona. Not that it is bad at CC. For him just not the same in taste and serving. But a good second place for not having to have a sit down meal. (For example, more greasy at CC. Just not cooked as well.)

That's why I tried it with the sb jelly- then the pb seemed good too, I always love that with bananas- you can put syrup, butter, whatever- have it your way- PLUS you can take it outside and eat in there- I like the coffee idea- the best of all worlds
