We came back from an 8 night stay at the Poly and mostly everything was nice with not much to complain about. But one of the things I most looked foward to was having "tonga toast". It's almost like legend status on this board. I think I got my hopes up too much. I was disappointed in it.
It was like eating a small loaf of cinammon bread with a small banana sliced in the middle (basically that's what it is), I just expected more from it after reading about it for years on this board. Usually when I have something that's good, I know it right away. I had it twice to be open minded, but that was enough. Maybe it works for others, but not for me.

Let the flaming begin!

pirate: ARGH!!!!

:lmao: That was funny. No reason anyone should flame you over this. You just don't like it, that's all. I have read all that you have about this famous toast. I made a resie just to try it for the first time. Who knows?! ;)

No flaming--never tried it and never will. I don't like bananas--can't stand the smell of them! :lmao:

The way I look at it is everyone has their own personal tastes.. some like tonga toast others don't.

I really enjoyed it and would definately order it again.

I agree. It is good, but the Boatwrights version is better...same thing, comes with strawberry sauce.

DH loves it and I am good for a few bite but I could never eat the entire thing myself...way too sweet.

I feel the same way about zebra domes, totally overrated! Personally we do not like them at all

The way Tonga Toast is raved about on this board, I've been tempted to try it too, but I can't stand banana's. I don't even like banana flavored things.

But dole whips are talked about a lot too, so I'm actually gonna try one of those for our upcoming trip.

I have to agree. Its not that it's bad-just overrated. The same goes for dole whips.
I also tried the school bread and that was just:scared: bad.

I too looked forward to my first Tonga Toast. I love French Toast. I love bananas. What I didn't know is that I absolutely hate hot cooked bananas! One of the nastiest things I ever tried to eat LOL! We threw two whole orders in the garbage.

o.k., I was going to agree with you until you attacked my beloved :worship: dole whips. No one bad-mouths my dole whips! :rotfl: And my beloved :worship: school bread:rotfl: (Course I haven't had the new version, maybe it's not as good now. We'll see in May 2009.)

I do agree on the tonga toast...I like it for about 2 bites...after that, way too sweet.

Because of all the good things said about it--I was also tempted to try tonga toast and figured I would just take the banana out of it, 'cause i hate banana's lol The pics do make it look a bit too sweet. i do have a CP res that I am thinking of changing to Kona for breakfast because the thought of those pineapple macadamia pancakes are calling me! ahhh yes, the Dole whips too....I love my dole whips. I really like most things that have pineapple in it so I am just counting my days til we get there. my paperwork should be arriving any day now!!:santa: popcorn:: :santa:

I love tonga toast but like most folks, I think it is too much. I spilt with family. Don't hate me, but I don't like Dole Whips or Zebra domes. I will however push small kids out of the way for Oreo Bon Bons (Just Kidding)

Our family likes it. After our Cruise on the Magic last week,we made a special trip last sunday morning on our way to MGM ( Studios) for breakfast. We were staying at WLV's
DW special last minute request.

Now for us. Poly is over rated. We like to visit but not worth the cost to stay there.

I loved loved loved it...but my husband and oldest dd didn't care for it and were glad they ordered something else...all a matter of taste!;)

Mmmm....mmmm :rotfl:
