Okay, me and my friend are going to disney in march, and I HAVE TO TRY THE TONGA TOAST! It looks soooooo good! I was just wondering where all it can be found...i know there are several places, i just dont know them all? Thanks in advance for your help!

I've never had the tonga toast but I too think it looks delish! I saw it on the menu at Rainforest Cafe in AK(who knew they even served breakfast?. You can view menus on allears.net under dining.:)

We had it at the Kona Cafe in the Polynesian in Dec. It was very very sweet...........not bad though.

For a fraction of the cost you can get it at Captain Cook's at the Poly (the quick service restaurant) versus Kona. Same stuff, different price. I just had it last week. Very sweet, very filling, couldn't finish it. Enjoy!

Boatwright's, in Port Orleans Riverside, also has it, though they dont' call it Tonga Toast. It's just called Banana Stuffed French Toast, but it's exactly the same as at Poly, and Boatwright's is a nice TS place, much easier to get a breakfast ADR there than at Kona or 'Ohana, and has a quiet, relaxing, friendly atmosphere.

If you go to allears, you can get the recipe! We had it at the Poly, and then made it at home, aside from the atmosphere, it was just as good!

No, nowhere at the parks. Kona is the one who originally had it, I believe. You can get an order at the counter service there at Poly.

Do you like overly sweet deep fried stuff? Consider splitting an order between your party to start with. I honestly found the stuff to be disgusting and my sugar loving DH ate about half before he pushed it away. It's very fatty and very rich. The other breakfast stuff at Kona is good, so is the coffee ;)

Does it come with any fruit sauce like at Kona? I found that the strawberry sauce actually cut the sweetness. We'll be staying at POFQ and just might go over there for breakfast.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

You can also get Tonga Toast Counter Service at Caribbean Beach Resort...

wow! thank you all! i thought i read somewhere that Kona has a counter service that you can get it at...am i dreaming?

Kona doesn't have a counter service...you can get it at Captain Cooks which is the counter service at the Poly.;)

Here's my Tonga Toast "tip" - I love Tonga Toast - I think it is heavenly and I cannot wait to have in this Sept! :hyper: ..it is not a light breakfast...and it is very sweet...my advice is to refrain from using any syrup on it. You might OD on sugar and :faint: :faint: enjoy!

I had it at Captain Cooks when we were there in November. I was so excited to try it and I think I built it up a little too much. It wasn't as good as I was hoping it was going to be. :guilty:

Does anyone have a picture of the tonga toast? I am very interested in it now....

the advantage of having it at kona cafe is that you can get pressed pot coffee with it! :thumbsup2 so good! i've never had it at captain cook's but the pics i've seen didn't have syrup or fruit compote with it. it's served with one of the two at kona. personally i think drizzling syrup over it makes it just perfect!
