There is nothing I look forward to more than breakfast at Kona Cafe for the famous TONGA TOAST. For those who have haven't experienced it, Tonga Toast is fried banana french toast topped with cinnimonn sugar. I feel TT hasn't gotten it's due and am taking on the role of getting 50 people to respond....LOVE IT. Come on disney food lovers...let's give Tonga Toast some R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

I think it sounds delicious and I am hoping to try it on our next trip. (I had not previously heard of it before joining the DIS boards.)

Count me in! I already booked Kona for my July trip just so I can try the Tonga Toast!

It's really sugary. If they didn't drench it in so much sugar, I might like it more. But I couldn't eat more of a few bites of it. It seems to have a big following though!

You can get it at Captain Cooks counter service too, I do believe. I shall be giving it a try this year.popcorn::

YES! I've heard such good things about it, so next trip I plan on making a pit stop at Captain Cooks for the quick version. Sounds yummy!

It looks insanely sweet, like, almost TOO sweet.
I would probably like the first few bites and then be max'd out. Looks good though.

We're gonna try to make it to Captain Cooks to try the tonga toast this next trip. It looks *so good!

I agree with others. I really wanted to try it after hearing about it for so long. I love sweet things, but even for me, it was a little over the top. I only ate half of it. I will stick to my favorite Macadamia Nut Pancakes. Now that is some yummy stuff! ;)

R-E-S-P-E-C-T Tonga Toast is my absolute favorite breakfast!!! Total must do for this family.:)

It has too long since I have experienced the awesomeness that is Tonga Toast. That, and a Kona coffee press is quite a heavenly breakfast.

It's not as hidden as you think. We too used to go to Kona exclusively for the Tonga Toast, but we soon found something out... If you head downstairs to Captain Cook's (the Poly's counterservice), you are able to get the EXACT same Tonga toast, and cheaper!

My daughter and I LOVE the Tonga Toast. We've only had it from Capt. Cooks. It's definitely big enough and sweet enough to share. Yumm. Craving it right now. I've been on law carb for 4 weeks. Some Tonga Toast might put me into a coma right now.

At Capt. Cook's you can also get a Dole Whip. Okay now, everybody keep that quiet. We can't have a rush going on at Capt. Cook's.

My guess is that it is cheaper because you get it on a paper plate. Next time, I'm skipping the formalities, like a knife and fork, and just eating it like a sticky, maple syrup covered sandwitch. Yeah, that's me in the corner, maple syrup running down the sides of my face, Tonga Toast in one hand, and a Dole Whip in the other - along with a huge euphoric smile on my face.

I love this thread an heartily approve of it. Anyone who doesn't like Tonga Toast is no friend of mine.:rotfl:

We will be at Captain Hooks May 13th to get our Tonga Toast!!! We like to save the table service credit and just use the counter service. It's just as good.
