Tomorrow's the first day of school around here

My daughter is so excited, she's actually cleaning without needed to be asked to do anything scared1:, she never does that!!!). My son is already talking about how much sleep he's going to get tonight (I think he's adding a few more hours to that sleep time than what he'll get though). Both of my kids are excited about going back to school. I think I have weird kids (I used to get excited about the first day of school too though ).

Anyone else starting back to school this week?

Nope- We didn't get out until the middle of June here so we have another month off!

No, we have a month left. (Their first day is Sept 2)

I have been starting them on the routines early though, so it won't be too much shock to them.

I wish in a way they went back, since there isn't much to do right now for them.

My boys don't go back until September 7th! It's still summer vacation for us!

Ours start sept. 7th, good because we are going on vacation, I need to order their uniforms and they are having summer reading in the process etc.

I go back tomorrow; students come back on Friday.

Public school kids go back this coming up Thursday....DD doesn't go back till August 23rd.

School here doesn't start until SEPT 1 so I still have some vacation left. Our county fair began today and that means school is not far behind. Only two more years and I can retire!

My children will be starting back on Aug 9th. Only 1 week to go! They are excited to get back in school as well. Well this is my son's first year so it's a little different for him.

Wow. I finally got out June 21, so summer is really just starting around here. I go back September 2nd. Way too soon.

Ours starts Aug. 25th and DD moves into the University on Aug. 26th.

I could not stand it if school were to start here tomorrow! We love summer vacation!!

My kids got out June 14th- they are bored though and frankly I'M ready for them to go back!!!!

Are you looking forward to getting them back into the routine Shan or do you like having it more "laid back" ???

I'm already seeing the games already, Kathy. My poor phone has never been used this much. My dd has the harder classes this year. Her accelerated math teacher almost had me crying when she listed all the things she'll force them to learn this year.

Texas has a state law that says public schools can't start until the week of August 15th. We've been out since May 27. I go back tomorrow (Aug.2) for HS summer band camp & inservice. I'm ready.

DS goes back August 26. I'm ready for him to go now. He better get busy reading his second book!!!
