Tomorrowland dessert party??

First time loved it. Second time not so much. They didn't replenish like they did the first time. I'd say try it once.

It wasn't that great. I guess I'm glad we did it but don't plan on doing it again. I wished we would have done the pirates voyage instead or just grab a Mickey ice cream bar and watch from Main Street.

I thought it was good. Location is excellent! My kids ate non-stop, which is important. If you like dessert and want to avoid the crowd then I say try it at least once. We were a party of 7. 3 were young kids.

If it's about the food, you need to ask yourself: How may desserts can you eat?

Sure we think we could eat several, dozens? Several dozens? But when you approach it realistically, can you eat X dollars worth of dessert?

Beyond that you consider what else is offered in the experience. Is it worth it?:confused3

I'm a pretty picky eater, so I didn't love all the desserts. There were definitely some good ones though. My son (7 at the time) thought they were amazing. For me the best part was having a nice place to sit down & rest my feet while waiting after a very long day. I had my 70 year old mother with me & getting to sit somewhere peaceful instead of fighting through the crowds for a standing room only place to watch the fireworks was invaluable. I was planning to do it again this October, but now I'm considering watching Wishes from the TOTW instead.

I should probably also say that I'm always willing to pay more for convenience & tend to throw the budget out the door. If you're someone that really needs to see tangible return on your investment by eating your ticket value in desserts, it may not be for you.

I did this with DH this past Jan and for me, it's all about the experience. The desserts were ok. Nothing mind blowing but all good and fine. The view, was wonderful. We booked 6 months out and I had heard the earlier you book, the better the seats. If that's the case, then yes, it was worth it for me and DH.

Would I do this everytime? No. Would I do the new party in Epcot, no because I don't drink and I would rather a less expensive option with out wine offered so we'll skip that one.
Have I been closer to the castle during the fireworks show? yes but with mounds of people around me. This was very relaxed and intimate (if anything at Disney can be). We got to meet some great people and see the fireworks in a way we never did before. We got to pig out on more sugar than we normally eat in 6 months so it really was a huge treat for us.

What it isn't though it a lot of things. This isn't a meal even though it's done through an ADR. But it is a lot of food and yes they have fruit. Eat a late lunch though so you aren't starving.
It isn't the best place to see the fireworks. It's not close and they do not pipe the wishes soundtrack into the terrace. you can hear everthing but it is at a distance.

My family and I enjoyed this event just last week. We had excellent seats and as it was raining we were under cover. Seating is assigned so no need to line up 30 minutes beforehand. I don't know how seating is determined as I didn't book it til January and we had about the best table available. For us it was worth it.

We loved it. I'd do it every time just for the view and the seats. Tink is so close my dd was just giddy over it. We had a good view of the parade and an even better one of the fireworks. IMO it was paying for VIP seating and getting yummy treats for free. I'd always pay to have a better seat away from crowds. It was so relaxing to sit there and watch everything while eating treats and sipping and iced coffee after a long hot day. Nobody stood up really the way I have seen reported in past reports, but even if they did it is still way better than being on the street(IMO).

I think the fireworks are better viewed from the Pirates and Pals cruise than from Tomorrowland, but as extended family family we have done both twice!

I think is it worth it! Great location, great view and nice desserts. And you have a chair for the wait for the fireworks!! (for me that's huge after a long day at MK). If you want the location and viewing is totally worth it, the desserts are a plus. Overall I think is an excellent experience and we plan to do it once per trip or at least every couple of trips.

we did it in 2010 and we really enjoyed it. It was our last trip with all three kids and we have some really nice photopass shots in front of the castle in a couple of different colors. Plus the desserts were awesome.

Like anything else at WDW is is an expensive way to watch the fireworks. But worthwhile to try it once as a special occasion.

Haven't done it, but planning to in Nov. for us, we've had some horrid Main Street experiences of late. MK is getting too crowded. Fellow guests are getting too rude. We are traveling with friends who haven't been in a long time and it's my goal to make this trip magical for everyone. Is rather spend the money then have another possibly horrid experience, especially trying to get a group of 8 to see the fireworks, together, happily, without cursing at someone for stepping on a child.

I completely agree with this. We are going again this year.

Do you book it through the dining site? What is the cost? Is the Terace enclosed now? Can you hear it through that?

I have mixed feelings about it. I stalked the site months and months in advance. Not sure if it still works the same way, but when we booked for last July 4th, they wouldn't tell you when the event would hit the reservation system. I had a few Disboard people who I hooked up with so that one of us would always be trolling for the time when reservations would hit the system.

With that said, I am nearly certain that I got my reservation moments after they opened. And considering I worked so hard to get that reservation, I was very disappointed when my seat was in the back. There really isn't a BAD seat there, but the ones in the front are way better. When I asked about the seating priority, the woman said that the front seats were the people who registered first. I can't prove it, but I really doubt that the group of people I saw sitting there were as diligent about finding the exact moment that reservations opened up as I was.

I would say that everything was "good" --- good view, good food, good overall experience. I had a better viewing experience on the street a bit closer to the castle, but then again, I really had to fight and wait for that spot. So, just for the convenience, the dessert party seemed worth it.

I would do it again, but only once every 5 years or so.

What is best to enjoy the fireworks, the dessert party or the wishes FP+?

We have not done the dessert party.

However, the one time we had wishes FP+, it had rained earlier in the day. The grass was a bit damp, so they only allowed us on the paved area. After that, we decided we like viewing the fireworks from other locations.
