I was at the parks today for the Wednesday's with Walt AP event and there were signs in the esplanade that indicated that Tomorrowland will be closing at 5pm on Saturday, May 9th for a special event.

Didn't George Clooney do a charity lottery last week where you could buy entries for a chance to win a trip to the premiere at DL this weekend?

That makes sense...folks on another thread were wondering how they were going to do the Tomorrowland movie premiere after party in Tomorrowland when the park was open until midnight.

I saw something that said the premier will be at downtown Disney and they will use the monorail to get everybody to the tomorrowland party

From Downtown Disney?

The premiere is at the AMC movie theater in Downtown Disney. So, it is near-ish to the monorail station and it would drop the attendees off right in Tomorrowland.

LOL, wrong coast. I have trips planned to both coasts so keep mixing up my responses. Sorry about that! Of course it makes sense that the premiere is at DL.

They are monorailing (is that a word?) media and guests to Tomorrowland Theater for an after-party. One of the chef's created the appetizer menu (They didn't say Sutton though) and they are able to get around the "No Alcohol" by having drinks in a specific location.

There's a whole PR event going in in Disneyland right now too in regards to Tomorrowland. I know several people in attendance and they're in the Parks right now.

As a member of the press attending I'll redact the contacts but this is what we got:

3:00 p.m. - Film premiere; TOMORROWLAND [Disney]. Celebrities expected: from the film, George Clooney, Britt Robertson, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key, Matthew McCaull, director/producer/writer Brad Bird, producer/writer Damon Lindelof, composer Michael Giacchino and many others. 3:00 press check in; 4:00 red carpet. AMC Downtown Disney 12, 1565 Disneyland Drive, Anaheim. Contact: [domestic broadcast, print, online and Hispanic press]
