We want to book a 2 bedroom at Animal Kingdom Lodge but I can't decide if I want Jambo or Kidani. We're a party of 9 and this will be our first time ever staying at a deluxe resort. I just don't know what would suit us better. The room has to be standard view also. I'm leaning towards Jambo because of the food court and restuarants but at Kidani we would get three bathrooms and a larger room? Ugh.........Tell me what you all think cuz I have no idea

I have stayed only in a studio at both and they are both lovely. Jambo really has the wow factor though with it's huge lobby, restaurants, and pool. I personally put Jambo ahead, but that's just my opinion. Also, there is a ton of resort activities at Jambo (Kidani has activities also, but not as many).

If you are using Disney transportation Kidani gets dropped off first from the parks. If coming from DTD then Jambo gets dropped off first.

I'd say if eating at your resort is important, then stay at Jambo.

Again, either way both are awesome resorts.

With 9 people, I would only consider Kidani. I would also try to get a dedicated one, so there are 2 queen beds in the second bedroom. We had a dedicated savannah view 2 bedroom in Kidani and it was fabulous. I understand you'll have standard view, but that's still the way I would go.

I agree, with a group that size a dedicated 2 bedroom at Kidani would be best. Pick up a few groceries for breakfasts and quick lunches, and for any other dining or drinks, Sanaa is a great option. I don't think you'd really need anything more. AKV Kidani rocks! The pool and play areas are great too.:goodvibes

Not done the 2 BR at AKV, but is there really a choice between 3 bathrooms and 2 bathrooms with nine people? We stayed at Kidani earlier this summer and the dining was not an issue for us. We stayed on the side closer to Jambo (by the Kidani bus stop), and the walk to Jambo was really short.

Ditto!
Great advice:)

Ditto on the three bathrooms and two queens in the second bedroom. :thumbsup2

We just came back from SSR with 8 people and it was a struggle to get everyone up and ready and out the door with only 2 bathrooms. And that's with some of the kids taking showers at night.

So when I call MS tomorrow I tell the person I want a dedicated 2 bedroom at Kidani for my dates?

Just know that the standard views at Kidani are parking lot views. I'm pretty sure that all standard views at Jambo are pool view. I don't know if view matters, but it may not be as important as the number of bathrooms. I never want a parking lot view, but I think if I was going with a party of 9, it would be more important to me to have the 3 bathrooms!

Request a pool view or partial savannah view Standard View at Kidani. Not all Standard Views at Kidani are parking lot view only.

I wanted to say thanks to everyone that offered help!!! I called this morning to make my reservations. I asked for a dedicated 2 bedroom for my dates 06/04 -06/12. We could only book up until the 11th and will have to call back tomorrow for our last night. There also wasn't any dedicated 2 bedrooms available so I waitlist until 7 days out. The lady at MS was very sweet and patient with me as I had a ton of questions (as a first timer).

Glad you got what you wanted, even if you had to change your dates a bit. You'll have a great trip!

Even if you end up with the lock-off 2BR, you still made the better choice of resorts with that third bathroom. With a lock-off you'll also get a kitchenette in the second bedroom which can be nice.

The main parking lot at Kidani is underground, so even with a parking lot view, you might see some cars in the outdoor lot, but there is still a nice view with palm trees and all.

We were there in September in a studio unit with savana view at Kidani. Both are very nice resorts but the only problem with Kidani is there are no foud court if you want something quick and light for breakfast or lunch. You will have to walk to the Jambo House which is not far if you want a quick bite to eat. I think I would go with the bigger room and take a short walk to the Jambo House when I feel like having a quick bite to eat. After all a little walk is good for all of us.

The 2 bedroom at Kidani is HUGE! We are a big family and it honestly felt too big for us! We had standard view to save on points and I hated it. We had nothing but parking lot. During the day I wanted the curtains open for more light, but the lines from the parking spaces annoyed me..lol So I kept the sheers closed. We took a bus to Jambo from AK for lunch one day and walked back to kidani and the walk only took a few minutes. The pool at Kidani is AMAZING! Have Fun!
