Tomatoes Question for DS

We are leaving fro WDW on Sat and DS is having a fit wanting to know if he will have tomatoes for burgers since we don't have any here.

I say Disney grows their own so that is not a problem.

Am I correct????

Hmmm...I would say for Epcot area, you should be pretty safe, and overall, WDW should be pretty good about avoiding any sicknesses with issues like this. Best bet is to ask the server at the restaurants when you order.

The only restarurant that we went to last week that was not serving fresh tomatoes was Tutto Italia. They were not doing their mozzarella and tomatoe app. Jiko and Yachtsmen had tomatoes through.

Also we noticed on our ride home and here in atlanta that restarurants are starting to get fresh tomatoes back on their menus. I'm sure Tutto will have them soon.

is likely finding new suppliers when sources are lower. It takes time to get the contracts up. Unfortunately Florida tomatoes (along with some areas of Mexico) are still under investigation.

There are plenty of tomatoes in our stores now and the local ones are not yet available. As time passes Disney has a better opportunity to identify new suppliers.

Disney are back to using tomatoes. Very few places use the tomatoes grown in The Land - as far as I'm aware, only Garden Grill and Sunshine Seasons. So your son should be OK. There was only a lack of tomatoes for 1 - 2 days if I remember correctly.

You know, I never knew about this tomato thing until a local restaurant wouldn't serve them on my pizza (not the sauce, the topping). Kroger never stopped selling them.

If anyone can find "safe" tomatoes, it'll be Disney.
