Tom Sawyers island paint brushes gone!!

Just learned, first hand experience that due to the new fast pass system they can't give out free fast passes so they are no longer hiding the paint brushes... Very sad day in Disney traditions...

How does one affect the other? Does this mean that no more restitution fastpasses for on ride delays?

What part of the new fast pass system is incompatible with the give away passes that a physical cast member takes a look at?

Not sure how they effect each other, but after searching for a paint brush for 30 min I finally asked where it was and she had said that due to the new system they don't hide the brushes anymore

I believe the OP's experience, but it makes no sense. Whether it be for this or as an "I'm sorry for your bad experience" there would be no problem in printing off a fastpass that says that it is valid anytime that day. That was such a great experience for kids that I don't get why you would stop it. It has virtually no cost associated with it.

While i don't doubt that the OP is telling the truth, i don't buy the theory in general. Sounds like a CM who didnt know what they were talking about, or didn't feel like explaining why they didn't hide the brushes on a given day. According to a friend who was a CM at Tom Sawyer Island last summer, there are many days where they don't bother for whatever reason, or simply don't have time to hide the brushes.

Quite a few years ago, we found the paint brushes and we received coupons for either a free soda, popcorn or ice cream bar from the snack carts. There were four of us and we each received one coupon. That was fun. We found more than one but gave the other one to someone else.

You doubt my FIRST HAND experience? Why would I make that up? And what would the expansion have anyhing to with paintbrushes?

I thought that the paint brushes had been gone for several months now...maybe even a year. I remember reading threads about them being discontinued. I don't doubt that the CM told you that, but I do think the CM was wrong.

Last December they were there for sure.

No, they definitely have not been gone for a year... I found them within the year... It may be months though

I wasn't sure of the timing, but I knew it wasn't a recent change . I think it may have been January-ish. Initially I think it was because of the refurb to BTMR, but not sure.

Ok so I searched this entire forum for paint brushes and there has been several threads about is... Apparently they a gone to to the refurb of thunder mnt.. And they did not want to overload splash mnt with fast passes... Dout they will come back though

OK, typical, of late, Disney CM answer to my question of why was the bridge closed? First CM; Idunno. Second CM: It's closed?
Anyway, this was about 3 weeks ago, so does anyone know if has re-opened?
It's about the only thing we go out there to do.

Just this year, not even three months ago we got stuck on splash mountain. Long story short, when we got off we were given fast passes for any ride anytime in Magic Kingdom....so I think that cast member was mistaken...
