Tom Joyner thing

My family and I are going to be at WDW while the Tom Joyner thing is going on and we're wondering how this will affect the parks. Do they stay in one park or are the events everywhere? What exactly does it entail? I'm looking to avoid any crazy crowds as much as possible. Thanks.

I did hear that one park will be closed on night for the party....

Last year we made the mistake of going to MGM on the day the Tom Joiner group was going to be there. It was packed! I'm not sure what day it started, this was Saturday, but that was the only time it seemed to be crazy from Wed. - Sun. when we were there.

we were there last year during the Tom Joyner group and it wasnt all that bad.. DW is busy around that time of year anyway, but Im sure it wouldnt have been as busy had that not been going on... We were able to ride most everything we wanted to.. The only thing as you had mentioned is that one of the parks did close quite early which was a disappointment because we had everything planned before we went and werent planning on leaving that park early so we hopped over to another park and it made that other park extremely crowded because everyone moved over to there..

I was just wondering this myself...we have the fantasmic pkg booked on 9/1 and was hoping that is not the night they will close early. How do we find out which night it will close early? Thanks!
