I had heard that too, but now he's saying that's not what he meant:
He's just trying to make her
comfortable according to
this little news report I found. "Cruise admitted he wants his fiancée to feel as comfortable as possible and he doesn't care how the baby is born.
"Like anything, you want to be as quiet as possible. There have been misinterpretations that the woman can't make any noise, and that's just not true. It's nutty. No, but just calm and quiet. I want Katie to be as comfortable as possible. And whatever she's gonna go through, she's gonna go through. And I'm gonna be there," the actor said."
This part sounds weird: "During a recent interview, Tom Cruise slammed late reports that Katie will deliver their baby "in silence", according with the practices of Scientology, which sustain that one should "maintain silence in the presence of birth to save both the sanity of the mother and the child and safeguard the home to which they will go."
So, I guess we know what Brooke Shields needs to do to avoid getting postpartum depression again - just make sure she delivers in silence.
