Are tolls from MCO to Cape Canaveral? From there back to WDW? How many?

Google your question and you will get a multitude of answers. But yes, there are tolls.

it depends on the route you take and how you pay (cash or Sunpass)

In general MCO to the port is two tolls $1 and $1.25 if paying cash (I recommend exact change in quarters)

From the port to WDW the first part is the same ... near the airport you then choose between staying on 528 to the end then taking I-4, or using 417. I prefer 417 as it has less traffic

if you stay on 528 to encounter one additional toll of $2.25 (assumes you STAY ON until I-4 ... get off early and things are different)

417 costs more but usually has less traffic ... tolls can vary on where you exit ....

you WILL encounter two tolls of $1.50 (cash accepted - recommend exact change in quarters)

if you exit at world center dr there are no more tolls, you'll enter WDW complex via 536 near Disney Studios and can get ANYWHERE from here

if you exit at 192 you get a .75 toll at the exit ... here you'll enter WDW at the extreme south side near Animal Kingdom .. you can still get everywhere but you'll backtrack to the north ... as I recall this exit is NOT full service so have change or SUNPASS (not attended, no change made, no bills accepted)

The rest of the time, if we drive, we will head to WDW.

1. The Tolls are very easy to spot, they usually have signs for at least a half mile before they appear.

2. you should be in the right hand lane. The toll booths will split off from the main highway.

There's generally a first warning 1 or 2 miles before the toll. When you get closer, there will be overhead signs saying "Cash" and either "SunPass only" or "E-Pass only". Just make sure you follow the signs onto the exit to the toll booths.

I read about the Paytollo app so you don't have to stop to pay cash and you aren't charged much more. Anything negative about using that? Sounds great.

I've not seen a lot of feedback about this system which currently operates in FL and CA only ... I believe there was one feedback here on DIS that said it worked good for them ..... use SEARCH right here and see old threads.

I'd caution to read and understand the instructions FULLY - I see that you need to use the app and tell the system to "settle the account" at the end of each drive ......

I'd not get spun up about potential savings which are .20 per toll ... SUNPASS can save you 30%

OK - I didn't realize the CFXway signs don't actually say "Cash", just "Pay Toll". Here's the signage on 528 which is Turnpike-operated:

ETA: Actually it does say cash, but in smaller letters on the bottom of the sign which are hard to see in the photo. The newer Turnpike signs don't say cash; they just have a pictogram of a toll booth and say "Change Provided".

there are differences due to age of particular signs ... the plazas on 528 west of the airport changed significantly a couple of years ago. One was removed and the toll at the western one increased while toll booths were added on on/off ramps. Removal of the plaza previously just west of the airport was done to improve traffic flow in the area.

Actually, 528 is one of the shared highways. From I-4 to just west of MCO, it's Turnpike; from there eastward, it's CFX. The toll plaza of which I posted a picture is Turnpike operated (SunPass). I know it is now under reconstruction as part of the Express Lanes addition.

The removed toll plaza just west of the airport was operated by CFX. I remember reading that as part of that removal, the Turnpike agreed to collect the toll on behalf of CFX and so a portion of what's collected is handed over to them.

I think a small portion of 528 at the extreme eastern end is or was owned by DOT (apart from the turnpike.)
